iHeartMedia Hot AC “102.9 Now” KDMX Dallas is promoting evening host Carter to Assistant Program Director/afternoon host.
Carter takes the afternoon slot previously held by Freddy Rivera, who joined the station in January of this year and has now exited. His evening slot will be taken by “Channel 96.1” WHQC Charlotte midday host Brooke Morrison who will voicetrack the shift from Charlotte.
iHeartMedia’s 102.9 Now, More Music, More Variety, announced today that Carter has been named Afternoon Drive Host and Assistant Program Director, effective December 3. Carter will broadcast weekday afternoons from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Each weekday afternoon Carter will discuss the latest entertainment news and trends in pop culture as well as current and upcoming Dallas/ Fort Worth events. Listeners can expect to hear a variety of music from artists including Imagine Dragons, Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and more.
Carter most recently served as a night on-air personality for 102.9. In addition, he has also held several on-air and programming positions, including Program Director for KWTX in Waco, TX, as well as an On-Air Personality for KJYO in Oklahoma City, OK, WFLZ in Tampa, FL, WAPE in Jacksonville, FL, and WWWQ in Atlanta, GA. He began his career at WBGG in Miami.

With Carter transitioning to afternoons, 102.9 Now has named Brooke Morrison night host. Morrison will broadcast from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. weekdays. Brooke began her career at KCOU at the University of Missouri as an on air DJ and has also been heard on WHQC in Charlotte, NC and KSLZ in St. Louis Mo.
