After stunting as “Beach 96.5” since June with programming from the iHeartRadio “Real Fun Beach Radio” format, iHeartMedia has flipped 1270 WTLY/96.5 W243EG Tallahassee FL to Classic Hip-Hop “Throwback 96.5“.
Positioned as “Tallahassee’s Throwback Hip Hop And R&B Station”, the station launched at 2:00pm today with Tag Team’s “Whoomp! (There It Is)” and Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock “It Takes Two”.

Utilizing the iHeartRadio “Real Fun Beach Radio” format, the station features a broad variety of upbeat Country, Classic Hits, Hot AC, and Reggae and positioned as “Tallahassee’s Summer Station”. The format was previously heard in Panama City in 2015/16.
However, the format looks to be temporary as the station is also running sweepers promoting that “Something New Is Coming” on Monday, July 8 at 2:00pm.
WTLY had been serving as the originating station for Urban “105.3 The Beat” W287CO, which is now being fed by 107.1 WGMY-HD2 Thomasville.
