After DWS Inc. and parent company News-Gazette Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last week, Champaign Multimedia Group has agreed to purchase the company for $4.5 million. The stations included are News/Talk 1400 WDWS/93.9 W230CW Champaign, AC “Lite Rock 97.5” WHMS-FM Champaign, and Classic Hits 107.9 WKIO Arcola as well as six newspapers in Illinois.
Casper Communications sells Variety Hits “Wisconsin 106.1” WCWI Adams WI to Marcus Jaeger’s Heart of Wisconsin Media for $350,000. The station’s real estate will be sold in a separate $175,000 deal to Jaeger. Seller Joseph Deschler will remain on the payroll for thirteen months after closing for $3,000 per month and be eligible for up to $7500 in bonuses over the next three years if the station reaches certain sales goals.
Andala Enterprises donates 1470 WNWF Evergreen AL to Logic Educational Network for no consideration. The seller retains Standards 1140 WPNS Destin FL.
