FCC Actions
As part of its license renewal, the FCC issued a $15,000 fine and only a two year license renewal (as opposed to the standard eight) to Hubbard’s Advertising Agency’s Gospel 930 WLLL Lynchburg VA for failing to prepare required quarterly issues and programs lists and failing to upload this information into the Station’s online public inspection file.
The FCC released a notice warning three AMs and four LPFMs that their licenses will expire as of October 1 for failing to file license renewal applications by the June 3 deadline. If no late application is received by 10/1, the licenses for Shenandoah Valley Group Americana 1230 WAMM Woodstock VA, Ward Broadcasting Gospel 1480 WTOY Salem VA, Tri-Cities Broadcasting’s Southern Gospel 1050 WGAT Gate City VA and four LPFMs will be terminated.
Star City Broadcasting CHR “Z96.5” WAZY-FM Lafayette IN was issued a Notice of Violation for operating at 88.2% of its authorized transmitter power and non-functional remote control equipment.
J & J Broadcasting’s 590 WJMS Ironwood MI received a Notice of Violation because all tower lights were extinguished on its three towers, had not been reported to the FAA, and the towers were not properly enclosed.
Deletions
After being tolled since January 2014, Panther Communications requested the deletion of its Construction Permit for 100.1 WNGT Irvington KY.
Three Angels Corporation surrendered the license of 1090 WUVI Charlotte Amalie VI after operating under reduced facilities since damage incurred by Hurricane Irma in 2017.
First Assembly King’s Cathedral and Chapel’s 790 KKON Kealakekua HI was deleted for being silent for over one year.
