New York area Spanish Christian operator Cantico Nuevo Ministry is adding a fourth AM on Long Island as they will receive 1370 WALK and the CP for 95.1 W236DH Patchogue from Connoisseur Media.
The deal is structured as Connoisseur donating the licenses to Cantico Nuevo, while Iglesias de Evangelizacion Misionera Jovenus Cristianos de EU Inc. will purchase the land where the WALK tower and former studios are located for $500,000. The station will join 1440 WLIM Medford and 1580 WNYG Patchogue under Cantico Nuevo Ministry ownership while the organization has a pending acquisition of 1520 WTHE Mineola. The group also operates 740 WNYH Huntington via Time Brokerage Agreement. WNYH and WNYG currently air the Radio Cantico Nuevo programming, while WLIM is leased to Tammy and Michael Celenza who operate it as Classic Hits “93.3 The Breeze” feeding their 93.3 W227CL Port Jefferson.
WALK currently simulcasts Oldies 1100 WHLI Hempstead. The WALK call letters are excluded from the sale and will remain with Connoisseur for use on AC 97.5 WALK-FM Patchogue.
