Max Media AC “92.9 The Wave” WVBW Suffolk/Norfolk VA has announced the addition of Jay West for afternoons.
West has been a staple in the Norfolk market with a nine year run as APD/MD/afternoon host at Rhythmic CHR “Z104” 104.5 WNVZ from 1995-2004 followed by a fourteen year run at Sinclair Communications where he hosted afternoons at Variety Hits “93.7 Bob-FM” WPYA and programmed short-lived CHR “106.1 The Zone” WZNR until his exit in July 2018. Prior to coming to the market he worked in Buffalo, Milwaukee, Houston, and Philadelphia.
Jay West will join Max Media’s on-air staff Monday, January 13th on 92.9 The WAVE. Jay will host afternoons from 3pm-7pm Monday – Friday.

Jay has been on the radio in Hampton Roads weekday afternoons since the mid90s. Prior to that, he hosted radio shows in Philadelphia, Houston, Buffalo and Milwaukee to name a few. Originally from Chicago, he calls the “757” home. Jay and his wife reside in Virginia Beach with a Doberman named Bentley.
