Cumulus Media Sports “104.5 The Zone” WGFX Nashville has announced the appointment of Paul Mason as its new Program Director.
Mason joins WGFX from Hubbard West Palm Beach where he programmed “Fox Sports 640” WMEN and Talk 850 WFTL since March 2017. He previously spent fourteen years at iHeartMedia Cincinnati with roles including being Executive Producer for Jerry Springer’s syndicated talk show and 700 WLW’s afternoon show. He also served as Assistant Program Director of WLW from 2011-2017.
Mason fills the opening created by Brad Willis’ departure in January after twelve years leading the station to take a position with the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame.
CUMULUS MEDIA announces that it has appointed Paul Mason as Program Director for 104.5 The Zone/WGFX-FM, Nashville’s live and local sports leader, effective May 1. Mason joins Nashville from West Palm Beach, FL, where he served as Program Director for NewsTalk 850 WFTL and Fox Sports 640, which serve West Palm Beach and Miami/Fort Lauderdale. Prior to that, he was Assistant Program Director for iHeartMedia Cincinnati’s 700WLW for 6 years.

Mason commented: “It’s an honor to join 104.5 The Zone, the home of the Tennessee Titans and UT Vols. I want to thank Allison Warren, Charlie Cook, and the entire Cumulus Nashville family for this amazing opportunity. WGFX is doing a lot of great things, and I am excited to work with the entire team to help take 104.5 The Zone to new heights.”
