Good Karma Brands Sports “ESPN 1000” WMVP Chicago will debut a local morning show hosted by David Kaplan and Jonathan Hood on Monday, August 17.
Kaplan who currently hosts “Kap & Company” from 9am-12pm and Hood who currently hosts “The Baseball Show” from 6-7pm and “Under The Hood” from 7-10pm, will be paired from 7am-10am.
ESPN Radio’s new “Keyshawn, Jay and Zubin” morning show hosted by Keyshawn Johnson, Jay Williams and Zubin Mehenti will lead off the schedule from 5-7am. Carmen DeFalco and John ‘Jurko’ Jurkovic will move from 12-2pm to 10am-12pm. ESPN Radio’s new “Greeny” hosted by Mike Greenberg will air from 12-2pm playing up Greenberg’s ties to the market and long run in mornings on ESPN Radio including WMVP. Afternoon hosts Tom Waddle and Marc Silverman remain in the 2-6pm slot, while producers Chris Bleck and Adam Abdalla will takeover “The Baseball Show” from 6-7pm and the 7pm hour.
Kaplan hosted “Sports Central” on 720 WGN from 1995 until March 2010 and “Sports Night” from December 2010 until 2015, when he joined “ESPN 1000“. He has also hosted talk shows for CSN Chicago and Chicago Cubs pre/postgame shows from 1995-2019. Hood has been with WMVP since 2005 in multiple roles after a decade at “670 The Score” WSCR and has also has hosted on SiriusXM’s NBA and Fight Nation channels and weekend shows for ESPN Radio. He also serves as baseball and basketball play-by-play voice for University of Illinois at Chicago and the Windy City Bulls.
