Entercom Country 99.5 WYCD Detroit has appointed Josh Holleman as morning co-host alongside Rachael Hunter and Steve Grunwald for “Josh, Rachael and Grunwald in the Morning”.
Holleman joins WYCD from Hubbard Country 92.3 WIL St. Louis where had served as afternoon host from 2016 until last month. Prior to going to St. Louis, Holleman spent a year in the current Entercom Detroit building as midday host on CHR “98.7 Amp Radio” WDZH and also spent five years in nights at Townsquare Media Rock “Banana 101.5” WWBN Flint.
He fills the opening created by the exit of twenty year station veteran Chuck Edwards in April. Edwards had hosted mornings since 2015.
Entercom, home to the nation’s most influential collection of podcasts, digital and broadcast audio content, and premium live events and experiences, announced the addition of Josh Holleman as morning show co-host for 99.5 WYCD (WYCD-FM). Holleman will join co-hosts Rachael Hunter and Steve Grunwald as part of “Josh, Rachael and Grunwald in the Morning,” weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. ET, effective immediately.
“As the home of Detroit’s best country, we look forward to integrating Josh’s fun and energetic style into our award-winning morning show alongside Rachael and Steve,” said Debbie Kenyon, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Entercom Detroit. “His impressive knowledge of the country music landscape and familiarity with our city as a native Detroiter will add a unique layer to our morning programming and help deliver a fresh, dynamic listening experience for our listeners to kick off their days.”
“Doing mornings in Detroit is an absolute dream of mine,” said Holleman. “Imagine my excitement when I got the call to work with an already established, award-winning team in the Motor City on the legendary WYCD. I want to thank Tim Roberts [Regional Vice President and Country Format Captain, Entercom; Brand Manager, 99.5 WYCD] and Debbie Kenyon for making it all possible. Country music is a part of the fabric of Detroit, and I couldn’t be happier to be back.”
The move marks Holleman’s second stint with Entercom Detroit, previously serving as an on-air personality for sister station 98.7 The Breeze (WDZH-FM) (then 98.7 AMP Radio) from 2015 to 2016. Holleman most recently hosted the afternoon drive for WIL in St. Louis since 2016. He started his broadcasting career in 2007 for WWBN in Flint, MI.
