Ten months after its launch, Rubber City Radio Group has evolved Modern AC “Jeny 107.3” WNWV Elyria/Cleveland OH to Alternative.
The move fills the hole created by iHeartMedia’s flip of “Alt 99.1” W256BT/WMMS-HD2 to the Black Information Network in June. With the change the station has begun positioning as “Cleveland’s Rock Alternative” and “Cleveland’s New Music Discovery”.
The majority of WNWV’s playlist was already leaning Alternative, but the station dropped its pop crossover from artists such as Maroon 5, Gabby Barrett, Ava Max, Niall Horan and Harry Styles. Unlike many Alternative stations, the Jeny 107.3 playlist features very little 90s product with only three songs before 2000 getting played on Monday.
