Cumulus Media has announced the promotion of Wade Linder to Vice President of Classic Rock.
Linder, who will continue to program Classic Hits 94.7 WLS-FM Chicago, will join the company’s corporate programming team under Vice President/Corporate Rock Programming Troy Hanson. Linder served as Music Director of Classic Rock 92.5 KQRS Minneapolis from 1990 to 1997. He then programmed Rock “93X” KXXR Minneapolis from its launch in 1997 until moving to Chicago to program Classic Rock 97.9 WLUP in 2014. Following the sale of WLUP to EMF he was moved across the hall to WLS-FM.
CUMULUS MEDIA announces that it has promoted Wade Linder to Vice President, Classic Rock, for the company. In his new role, Linder will serve on Cumulus’ content leadership team as a key resource for the company’s 34 Classic Rock radio stations, and will report to Troy Hanson, Vice President/Corporate Programming, Rock Formats. Linder will continue in his current role as Program Director for 94.7 WLS in Chicago, IL, a position he has held since 2018, following four years as Program Director of WLUP-FM. Prior to that, Linder was Program Director for KXXR-FM in Minneapolis, MN, a station he programmed for nearly 20 years.
