After stunting all weekend with a loop of Duke & Jones and Louis Theroux’s “Jiggle Jiggle” and promoting a free gas giveaway for this afternoon, Broadway Media relaunched Hip Hop “U92” KUUU South Jordan/Salt Lake City UT as “92.5 The Beat“.
The relaunch comes with a shift to Classic Hip Hop positioning as “#1 For Throwbacks”. The station had been dayparted in recent months with Classic Hip Hop from 6am to 7pm and currents and recurrents in nights and overnights.
The new brand launched with Nelly’s “Ride Wit Me”, Dr. Dre ft. Snoop Dogg “The Next Episode”, Baby Bash “Suga Suga”, and Travis Scott “Sicko Mode”. “103.5 Kiss-FM” KSAS-FM Boise Brand Manager Matt ‘Mateo’ Walling joins the station as Program Director and afternoon host.
The move marks the end of the 22 year old “U92” brand that had debuted in February 1999. The station fell to a 0.8 share in the June 2022 Nielsen Audio ratings placing in a 24th place tie.
