Midwestern Broadcasting will launch Oldies “105.7 The Bird” on WZTK Alpena MI on Monday, January 2.
The new brand will be programmed by Brian Hale and feature Michael Knight in mornings and Rich Nadeau in afternoons. Knight joins WZTK after most recently working internationally in Guam and the Philippines. Nadeau also hosts afternoons on sister 107.5 WCCW-FM Traverse City.
Update 12/22: Midwestern Broadcasting has confirmed that 105.7 WZTK Alpena MI will not return to its former Conservative Talk format after Christmas.
The station is running promos that it will be switching to a “live & local” music format on Monday, January 2. A sweeper states that listeners will “recognize the music right away and there may even be some songs you haven’t heard in some time.”
Original Report 11/18: Midwestern Broadcasting will drop Conservative Talk on 105.7 WZTK Alpena MI on Thanksgiving Day as the station will move to Christmas music through the holiday season.
The station has not yet stated plans for the station for after Christmas, but it is expected to debut a new format. WZTK currently features an all-syndicated lineup including This Morning with Gordon Deal, The Dave Ramsey Show, Clay Travis & Buck Sexton, Sean Hannity, and Joe Pags.
