Nielsen Audio has released Day 2 of its monthly four day sweep of ratings in PPM markets.

Today’s releases include Washington DC, Boston, Seattle, Miami, Phoenix, Detroit, Minneapolis, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Denver, San Diego, Baltimore, and St. Louis.

Washington DC

Public News/Talk 88.5 WAMU continues to lead Washington DC with a 12.2 to 11.5 drop. iHeartMedia AC 97.1 WASH rises 6.3 to 8.9, but its Christmas music is way down from its 11.3 in December 2021. Hubbard News 103.5 WTOP is off 8.7 to 8.6. Atlantic Gateway Communications Christian AC 91.9 WGTS slides 6.7 to 5.9. Howard University Adult R&B 96.3 WHUR drops 5.9 to 5.2.

iHeartMedia Country 98.7 WMZQ trends up 2.3 – 2.5 – 3.0, while sister CHR “Hot 99.5” WIHT is down 4.0 – 3.7 – 3.2.

Boston

Audacy AC “Magic 106.7” WMJX surges 5.5 to 9.7 (up from its 7.9 in December 2021). Beasley’s “98.5 The Sports Hub” WBZ-FM slips 10.5 to 8.5. Beasley Classic Hits 105.7 WROR dips 6.6 to 6.4. iHeartMedia CHR “Kiss 108” WXKS-FM holds at a 6.1 share. Audacy Sports 93.7 WEEI-FM returns to the top five down 4.9 to 4.7 to tie iHeartMedia News 1030 WBZ (5.2 to 4.7).

iHeartMedia Conservative Talk 680 WRKO slides 3.8 – 3.3 – 3.7. iHeart Rhythmic CHR “Jam’n 94.5” WJMN is down 2.8 – 2.3 – 2.0.

Seattle/Tacoma

Hubbard AC “Warm 106.9” KRWM rises 4.9 to 10.0 (up from 7.9 in December 2021). Bonneville News/Talk 97.3 KIRO-FM dips 7.0 to 6.6. iHeartMedia Classic Hits “95.7 The Jet” KJEB inches up 5.6 to 5.7. AAA 90.3 KEXP rises 4.7 to 5.3. Lotus’ “Northwest News” 1000 KNWN/97.7 KNWN-FM holds at a 5.2.

The crowded Christmas music battle in Seattle also saw Audacy Soft AC “94.1 The Sound” KSWD slip 5.1 to 4.5 (but up from its 3.9 in December 2021). Crista Media Christian AC “Spirit 105.3” KCMS-FM trends up 3.6 – 4.0 – 4.4 (up from 4.9 in December 2021). Lotus Hot AC “Star 101.5” KPLZ dipped 1.7 to 1.6 forgoing Christmas music this year after registering a 3.1 in December 2021 as “Santa 101.5“.

iHeartMedia Classic Rock 102.5 KZOK drops 5.2 to 4.2. Bonneville’s “Seattle Sports 710” KIRO falls 7.6 – 6.6 – 3.8. Audacy Alternative “107.7 The End” KNDD dips 3.1 – 3.0 – 2.4. Hubbard Country “98.9 The Bull” KNUC is down 2.7 to 1.9.

Miami/Fort Lauderdale

Cox Soft AC “Easy 93.1” WFEZ holds steady atop Miami with a 9.1 share. Cox Adult R&B “Hot 105” WHQT inches up 7.9 to 8.0. Audacy AC “101.5 Lite-FM” WLYF and Univision Spanish AC “Amor 107.5” WAMR both dip 5.8 to 5.5. SBS Spanish Tropical “El Zol 106.7” WXDJ is up 4.8 to 5.0.

Cox Rhythmic AC “Hits 97.3” WFLC is down 3.0 to 2.2, as iHeartMedia Hot AC “93.9 MIA” WMIA-FM jumps up 1.4 to 2.1.

Phoenix

iHeartMedia AC “99.9 KEZ” KESZ takes the Phoenix lead 6.9 to 11.3 (down from 12.9 in December 2021). Public News/Talk 91.5 KJZZ-FM rises 7.3 to 7.8. Hubbard Classic Rock 100.7 KSLX is up 6.5 to 6.7. iHeartMedia Hot AC “Mix 96.9” KMXP jumps up to fourth 3.7 to 4.5. Desert Valley Media Oldies “94.9/95.1 The Wow Factor” KOAI rises 4.2 to 4.4.

Bonneville’s “Arizona Sports 98.7” KMVP-FM is down 3.9 – 3.1 – 2.7. iHeartMedia CHR “104.7 Kiss-FM” KZZP drops 3.0 to 2.3. Sierra H Classic Hip Hop “101 The Bounce” KZCE falls 3.6 – 3.3 – 1.7.

Detroit

iHeartMedia AC 100.3 WNIC surges up 4.8 to 11.7, but is down significantly from its 16.8 share in December 2021. Audacy Sports “97.1 The Ticket” WXYT-FM rises 6.8 to 7.4 while its stream adds an additional 2.0 share. Beasley Classic Rock 94.7 WCSX slips 6.4 to 5.9, while sister Rock 101.1 WRIF is off 6.1 to 5.8. Audacy Classic Hits 104.3 WOMC slips 6.1 to 5.3.

A poor month for Country in Detroit as Audacy’s 99.5 WYCD is down 4.3 to 3.8 and Cumulus’ “New Country 93.1” WDRQ trends down 3.3 – 2.4 – 1.7. Cumulus News/Talk 760 WJR trends down 3.4 – 3.2 – 2.5.

Minneapolis/St. Paul

iHeartMedia Classic Hits “Kool 108” KQQL has a Christmas music boost 5.9 to 11.4 (up from 10.5 in December 2021). iHeartMedia Sports “100.3 KFAN” KFXN-FM is second 7.6 to 7.5. Hubbard Hot AC “KS 95” KSTP-FM (6.1 to 6.7) and Public News/Talk 91.1 KNOW-FM (6.0 to 6.7) tie for third. Audacy Variety Hits “104.1 Jack-FM” KZJK (5.5 to 6.0) and Cumulus Rock “93X” KXXR (5.7 to 6.0) tie for fifth.

Cumulus Classic Rock 92.5 KQRS rises 5.2 to 5.8 ahead of morning host Tom Barnard’s retirement. iHeartMedia Country “K102” KEEY trends down 6.5 – 5.9 – 5.4, while sister CHR 101.3 KDWB falls 5.9 to 4.1.

Tampa/St. Petersburg

Cox Soft AC 105.5 WDUV saw Christmas music bring a ratings drop as it falls 8.9 to 8.1, but still leads the Tampa/St. Petersburg market (WDUV had an 8.5 in December 2021). Cox Classic Rock “107.3 The Eagle” WXGL rises 6.6 to 7.3. Beasley Classic Hits “Q105” WRBQ surges up 4.6 to 5.9. Radio Training Network Christian AC “The Joy FM” 91.5 WCIE slips 6.1 to 5.5. iHeartMedia Rock “98 Rock” WXTB rises 4.7 to 5.2.

The other Christmas station in the market, iHeartMedia AC “Mix 100.7” WMTX rises 4.1 to 4.7, but is off from its 5.4 last year.

Cox CHR “Hot 101.5” WPOI trends up 2.7 – 3.5 – 3.9.

Beasley Country 99.5 WQYK drops 4.7 to 3.9, while Spanish CHR “Maxima 92.5” WYUU falls 4.5 to 2.8. iHeartMedia News/Talk 970 WFLA trends down 3.1 – 2.8 – 2.2.

Denver

Bonneville AC 101.1 KOSI jumps up 6.9 to 9.8 (up from its 7.7 in December 2021). Audacy Hot AC “Alice 105.9” KALC slips 6.7 to 5.7. Audacy Classic Rock “99.5 The Mountain” KQMT rises 4.9 to 5.2. Bonneville Country 98.5 KYGO is off 5.4 to 5.0. KSE Media Hot AC “Mix 100” KIMN rises 4.4 to 4.9.

KSE Media Classic Hits “Kool 105” KXKL trends down 5.8 – 5.3 – 4.5.

San Diego

Audacy AC 96.5 KYXY rises 4.6 to 8.3 (up from its 5.7 share in December 2021). Audacy Classic Hits “Sunny 98.1” KXSN surges up 4.5 – 5.2 – 7.1. Public News/Talk 89.5 KPBS-FM rises 5.7 to 6.5. Local Media San Diego’s Rhythmic AC “Magic 92.5” XHRM (7.2 to 6.3) and Variety Hits “100.7 Big-FM” KFBG (6.6 to 6.1) round out the top five.

iHeartMedia CHR “Channel 93.3” KHTS-FM trends down 3.5 – 3.2 – 2.8, which Huff notes is the lowest share on the frequency since Summer 1996 when it was simulcasting WFLZ Tampa ahead of the local brand’s debut in September 1996. Audacy Sports “97.3 The Fan” KWFN drops 2.9 – 2.7 – 1.2 following the end of the Padres’ playoff run.

Baltimore

Audacy AC “Today’s 101.9” WLIF rises 7.8 to 11.8 (down from 12.3 in December 2021). iHeartMedia Variety Hits “102.7 Jack-FM” WQSR places second 7.1 to 7.2. Radio One Adult R&B “Magic 95.9” WWIN-FM slips 7.4 to 6.0. Audacy Hot AC “Mix 106.5” WWMX rises 5.6 to 5.8. iHeartMedia Country 93.1 WPOC dips 5.7 to 5.2.

St. Louis

Hubbard Classic Rock 94.7 KSHE retains its lead with an 8.7 to 9.5 gain. Audacy AC 102.5 KEZK rises 5.2 to 9.4 (down significantly from its 12.5 in December 2021). Hubbard Variety Hits “106.5 The Arch” WARH slips 9.7 to 9.0. Audacy Adult R&B “96.3 The Lou” WFUN-FM is up 7.2 to 7.4. Hubbard Alternative “105.7 The Point” KPNT slides 7.9 to 6.9.
