Former 93.3 WMMR Philadelphia afternoon host Paul Jaxon is joining iHeartMedia Classic Rock “Big 100” WBIG-FM Washington DC as morning host.
Jaxon takes the spot that had most recently been held by Don Geronimo. He most recently spent 18 years in afternoons at WMMR until being let go in Beasley Media’s round of layoffs in October 2022. Jaxon has also hosted mornings at Alternative 101.7 WFNX Boston and Rockers 106.7 KBPI Denver and 99.5 KURR Salt Lake City in his career as well as hosting nights at WHJY Providence.
Jaxon will debut on Friday, October 6.
iHeartMedia Washington, D.C. today announced that Jaxon has been named Morning Show Host for BIG 100, Washington’s Classic Rock & Home of the Washington Commanders, effective Friday, October 6th, 2023. iHeartMedia Washington, D.C. has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises — both broadcast and digital — encompassing eight stations comprised of music, sports, talk and news formats.

As Morning Show Host, Jaxon will be responsible for hosting “BIG. Rock. Mornings.” Jaxon will report to Dustin Matthews, Director of Rock Programming for iHeartMedia Washington, D.C.

Jaxon joins the Washington, D.C. market from Philadelphia, P.A., where he most recently served as the afternoon host on WMMR-FM. He has been in the radio industry for three decades and previously hosted morning shows in Boston, Denver, and Salt Lake City.
