Full Power Radio will flip Oldies “Kool Radio” 1270 WACM/100.1 W261DD to Rhythmic CHR “Jammin 100.1” on New Years Day.
The station will be a simulcast or replication of sister “Jammin 107.7” WWRX North Stonington/Norwich CT with the same on-air lineup on both stations. ‘Mikey V’ hosts mornings from 6am to 12pm, “K104” WSPK Poughkeepsie afternoon host Skywalker tracks 1-4pm and Kidd David hosts late afternoons.
The Springfield market currently does not have its own CHR or Rhythmic CHR with Hartford CT stations serving in that role. The “Kool Radio” programming will continue on 990 WNTY/96.1 W241CG Southington CT and 1180 WSKP/104.3 W282CP Hope Valley RI.
SRS 96.1 does NOT play the same music as Kool Radio 100.1 played. To say the people can still listen to Kool Radio at 96.1 on their FM radio dial is incorrect.
Kool Radio 100.1 played music from the 60′ 70’s, and 80’s.
SRS 96.1 plays music from the 80’s & 90’s. There is no Dianna Ross & the Supremes, no Smokey Robinson, No Ides of March, no CCR, etc. etc. etc.
SRS 96.1 is a different station, with different programming, and does not come in clearly from my location in Springfield, MA on any of my 3 receivers at all, each equipped with long distance antennas.
You have effectively taken away “the music we grew up with. All of the music from the 60’s 70’s, and 80’s” from the listeners in Springfield, MA. So, even those who are able to get 96.1 cannot get clear reception, or the programming they have enjoyed listening to for years.
Reading comprehension is your friend…
Nobody said anything about 96.1 WSRS in Worcester. Full Power Radio’s “Kool Radio” programming still exists on 990 WNTY/96.1 W241CG Southington CT and 1180 WSKP/104.3 W282CP Hope Valley RI.
