Audacy Sports “105.3 The Fan” KRLD-FM Dallas and MLB’s Texas Rangers have agreed to a four year contract extension through the 2027 season.
KRLD-FM has carried Rangers games since 2015 with overflow broadcasts on News 1080 KRLD. 1080 KRLD served as their flagship from 1995 through 2010 with weekday games in 2009 and 2010 airing on KRLD-FM following its flip to Sports. Broadcasts are produced by the Rangers, who also manage their 70+ station network.
Audacy’s 105.3 The Fan (KRLD-FM) has announced a multi-year extension to its flagship broadcast and digital partnership with the world-champion Texas Rangers. As part of the extended partnership, English broadcasts of Rangers baseball will continue to be heard on 105.3 The Fan and streamed digitally via the Audacy app for fans within the Rangers broadcast territory.
“We are so excited to continue our amazing partnership with the 2023 world champion Texas Rangers,” said Brian Purdy, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy Dallas. “We are thrilled to bring back the game broadcasts and ancillary programming our listeners love, including shows with the club’s general manager, manager and players. We can’t wait to get to Spring Training and provide the best Rangers coverage in North Texas for years to come.”
“The Texas Rangers are very pleased to extend our English radio rights agreement with Audacy through 2027,” said John Blake, Executive Vice President of Public Affairs, Texas Rangers. “We have an outstanding partnership with 105.3 The Fan that provides unmatched coverage of the Rangers in North Texas. The Rangers are proud to share in celebrating our 2023 World Series championship with The Fan and look forward to continuing the relationship over the next four years.”
Beyond game broadcasts, 105.3 The Fan afternoon show “Gbag Nation” will welcome general manager Chris Young every Monday afternoon and select players every Wednesday. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy will join the station’s midday show, “K&C Masterpiece,” every Tuesday.
