Nielsen begins its monthly release of PPM ratings with today’s Day 1 update including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston/Galveston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Long Island, Riverside/San Bernardino, San Jose, and Middlesex/Somerset/Union.

With this week’s January monthly, Nielsen has changed its methodology for the PPM surveys changing the listening credit threshold from five minutes within a quarter-hour to just three. The most noticeable change will be the increase in CUME for many stations.
New York
iHeartMedia AC “106.7 Lite-FM” WLTW maintains its market lead 13.1 to 7.7. Audacy News 1010 WINS/92.3 WINS-FM rises 4.8 – 5.1 – 5.8 (stream adding an additional 0.7) for what Ratings Expert Chris Huff notes is the best showing for the WINS brand since March 2018 and the best for 92.3 since it was Dance WKTU in Spring 1982. Audacy Classic Hits 101.1 WCBS-FM rises 4.1 to 5.3. Public News/Talk 93.9 WNYC-FM climbs 3.7 to 5.2 for its largest share ever to tie for fourth with iHeartMedia Classic Rock “Q104.3” WAXQ as it is up 4.5 to 5.2.
Spanish Broadcasting System Spanish Tropical “Mega 97.9” WSKQ holds at a 5.1 share, but its stream rises 0.6 to 0.9.
Audacy Hot AC “New 102.7” WNEW is up 4.3 to 4.7. iHeartMedia CHR “Z100” WHTZ is off 4.7 to 4.6, while sister Hot AC 103.5 WKTU rises 3.1 to 3.7. Audacy Classic Hip Hop “94.7 The Block” WXBK gains 1.2 to 1.6.
Red Apple Media Conservative Talk 770 WABC rises 3.7 to 4.6.

iHeartMedia AC 103.5 KOST maintains its lead 12.4 to 6.1. Audacy Classic Hits “K-Earth 101” KRTH rises 4.7 to 5.8. With its fire coverage, Audacy News 1070 KNX/97.1 KNX-FM jumps up 3.7 to 5.2 (stream adding another 0.5 share) for what Huff notes is the largest share for KNX since Winter 1975 and the best ever share for the 97.1 frequency. iHeartMedia Hot AC “104.3 My-FM” KBIG rises 4.2 to 5.0, while sister CHR 102.7 KIIS-FM inches up 4.6 to 4.7.
iHeart News/Talk 640 KFI climbs 3.1 to 3.8. Public News/Talk 89.3 KPCC-FM is up 2.0 to 2.7. Classical 91.5 KUSC drops 3.6 to 2.5.
Audacy Variety Hits “93.1 Jack-FM” KCBS-FM is up 3.2 to 3.7. Meruelo Media Classic Rock 95.5 KLOS gains 3.0 to 3.5.
K-Love Inc. Christian AC “K-Love” 100.3 KKLQ is up 1.7 to 2.0. In its final monthly, Salem’s “95.9 The Fish” KFSH-FM inches up 0.7 to 0.8 with its flip to “Air 1” KAIA taking the final five days of the 28 day monthly.

Audacy News 780 WBBM/105.9 WCFS retakes the Chicago market lead 5.7 to 5.9 (with its stream jumping 0.4 to 1.2). iHeartMedia Adult R&B “V103” WVAZ holds at a 5.2 share. Three stations tie for third with Audacy AAA 93.1 WXRT up 3.1 to 4.8 and Country “US 99” WUSN up 3.2 to 4.8, while Hubbard Classic Rock “97.1 The Drive” WDRV continues its slide 6.5 – 5.6 – 5.1 – 4.8.
Hubbard Hot AC “101.9 The Mix” WTMX trends up 2.7 – 3.3 – 4.5. iHeartMedia Soft AC “93.9 Lite-FM” WLIT falls 12.5 to 4.2. iHeart CHR “103.5 Kiss-FM” WKSC is up 2.9 to 3.6.
Public News/Talk 91.5 WBEZ is up 2.3 to 3.0. Classical 98.7 WFMT drops 2.4 to 1.7.

Bonneville AC 96.5 KOIT is down 11.6 to 6.1. Classical 90.3 KDFC dips 5.4 to 5.2. Audacy Hot AC “Alice 97.3” KLLC jumps 2.8 to 3.9, which Huff notes is its best share since January 2022, to tie for fifth with Bonneville CHR “99.7 Now” KMVQ as it is down 4.5 to 3.9.

In its first full monthly, SBS Regional Mexican “La Ley 92.1” KROI rises 0.8 to 2.4, which Huff notes is the station’s best share since Holiday 2014 as Classic Hip Hop “Boom 92“.
