Lotus Communications flipped Rock “Rock 105.1” KKBZ Auberry/Fresno CA to Spanish Rhythmic “Caliente 105.1” at midnight on Saturday morning.
The new format creates a flanker for Lotus Rhythmic CHR “Q97.1” KSEQ against iHeartMedia’s market leading Rhythmic CHR “B95” KBOS.
KKBZ’s Rock identity began in 2008. For most of its run it was branded as “105.1 The Blaze” until rebranding as “Rock 105.1” in May 2023. The station had a 2.0 share in the December 2024 Nielsen Audio ratings.
After signing off with Metallica’s “Sad But True”, the first hour of the new format featured:
