Bubba The Love Sponge Officially Done On SiriusXM

Syndicated morning host Bubba The Love Sponge will not be returning to SiriusXM’s “Howard 101” in 2011. In a series of tweets today Bubba has announced that he rejected Sirius’ final offer and will add a show on RadioIO.com.

Bubba’s over-the-air affiliates include Cox’ “102.5 The Bone” WHPT Tampa, “Rock 104.5” WFYV Jacksonville, 96.5 WHTQ Orlando, and “95.3 The Eagle” WZLR Dayton, OH along with “98 Rock” WYBB Charleston, SC and “96.1 K-Rock” WRXK Fort Myers, FL.

Instant Insight: SiriusXM CEO Mel Karmazin hasn’t shied from the fact that he wants as much exclusive content as possible. Sharing Bubba with terrestrial stations was not something Mel was keen on, just as he put the kibosh on Opie & Anthony’s local outlets once XM came under his domain.
