February 2025 (2/6 - 3/5) Nielsen Audio PPM Ratings Day 2: Even Sunnier In San Diego; More Alternative Gains

Nielsen Audio has released Day 2 of its monthly four day sweep of ratings in PPM markets.

Today’s releases include Washington DC, Boston, Seattle, Miami, Phoenix, Detroit, Minneapolis, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Denver, San Diego, Baltimore, and St. Louis.

Washington DC

Public News/Talk 88.5 WAMU holds its lead down 13.4 to 12.3. Hubbard News 103.5 WTOP is up 11.4 to 11.7, which Ratings Expert Chris Huff notes is the station’s best since February 2010 and its second largest share ever. iHeartMedia AC 97.1 WASH is up 5.2 to 6.5. iHeart Alternative “DC 101” WWDC climbs 4.6 – 5.1 – 5.5 to tie for fourth with Howard University Adult R&B 96.3 WHUR which dips 5.7 to 5.5.

Classical 90.9 WETA-FM slips 5.2 – 4.5 – 4.1. Cumulus Conservative Talk 105.9 WMAL gains 2.8 – 3.3 – 3.9. iHeartMedia Classic Rock “Big 100” WBIG-FM jumps 2.8 to 3.7.

Costa Media Spanish CHR “DC 87.7” WDCN-LD rises 0.8 – 1.5 – 1.9.

Boston

Audacy AC “Magic 106.7” WMJX claims the top spot 7.9 to 7.0. Beasley’s “98.5 The Sports Hub” WBZ-FM falls 9.0 to 6.8. iHeartMedia News 1030 WBZ rises 5.5 – 5.8 – 6.2 for its best share since February 2022. Public News/Talk 90.9 WBUR holds at a 5.6 share. iHeart Classic Rock 100.7 WZLX gains 3.6 – 4.5 – 5.2.

Audacy Hot AC “Mix 104.1” WWBX trends up 3.4 – 4.4 – 4.8. iHeart CHR “Kiss 108” WXKS-FM gains 3.8 – 4.5 – 4.7. Audacy Variety Hits “Big 103” WBGB climbs 2.1 – 2.4 – 2.7.

Public News/Talk 94.9 KUOW-FM extends its lead 7.6 to 7.8. iHeartMedia Classic Rock 102.5 KZOK rises 5.6 to 6.1. Classical 98.1 KING-FM climbs 4.4 to 5.1. Hubbard AC “Warm 106.9” KRWM is off 4.8 to 4.7. Bonneville News/Talk 97.3 KIRO-FM inches up 4.5 to 4.6.

Christa Ministries Christian AC “Spirit 105.3” KCMS-FM continues its climb 2.4 – 3.2 – 3.4 – 3.5 – 4.2.

Dance “C89.5” KNHC breaks its station record high share set the last two months with a 2.3 to 2.4 move. iHeart CHR “Hits 106.1” KBKS rises 3.2 to 3.7, Hubbard CHR “Movin 92.5” KQMV dips 3.5 to 3.1.

Audacy Country “100.7 The Wolf” KKWF holds at a 4.3 share with its stream adding an additional 0.6 share. Lotus’ “101.5 Hank-FM” KPLZ-FM rises 2.0 to 2.4. Hubbard Country “98.9 The Bull” KPNW-FM trends up 1.4 – 1.9 – 2.1.

Cox Media Group Adult R&B “Hot 105” WHQT maintains an over two-share lead down 8.9 to 8.5. Cox Soft AC “Easy 93.1” WFEZ rises 5.5 – 5.8 – 6.3. Audacy Classic Hits “102.7 The Beach” WMXJ continues its months-long rise up 5.2 to 5.7 which Huff notes is its best share since December 2020. Audacy AC “101.5 Lite-FM” WLYF rebounds 4.7 to 5.4. Univision Spanish AC “Amor 107.5” WAMR holds at a 5.1 share.

SBS Spanish Oldies “Zeta 92.3” WCMQ is down 4.9 to 4.4. iHeart Bilingual AC “Magic 93.9” WMIA-FM trends down 5.1 – 4.5 – 4.1.

Phoenix

iHeartMedia AC “99.9 KEZ” KESZ maintains its lead down 8.1 to 7.4. iHeart Variety Hits “95.5 The Mountain” KYOT surges up 3.5 – 4.6 – 5.8. Hubbard Classic Rock 100.7 KSLX ties for second up 5.6 to 5.8. Hubbard Rock 97.9 KUPD gains 4.1 – 4.5 – 4.8. iHeartMedia Country 102.5 KNIX dips 4.5 to 4.2.

Hubbard Alternative “Alt AZ 93.3” KDKB rises 2.9 – 3.5 – 4.0. Audacy Classic Hits “Big 94.5” KOOL-FM is down 4.1 to 3.7.

iHeartMedia AC 100.3 WNIC is off 9.2 to 9.1. Audacy Classic Hits 104.3 WOMC trends up 5.7 – 6.6 – 7.0. Audacy Sports “97.1 The Ticket” WXYT-FM continues its post-football slide 7.1 to 6.2 with its stream down 2.0 to 1.6. iHeart CHR “Channel 95.5” WKQI is up 5.8 to 5.9 to tie for fourth with Audacy News 950 WWJ as it is down 6.3 to 5.9.

iHeartMedia Adult R&B “Mix 92.3” WMXD climbs 4.5 – 5.2 – 5.6. Beasley Rock 101.1 WRIF is up 4.2 – 4.8 – 5.0. Beasley Classic Rock 94.7 WCSX is down 5.5 to 4.9.

iHeart Classic Rock 106.7 WLLZ climbs 2.3. – 2.7 – 3.3. Audacy Alternative “Alt 98.7” WDZH rises 2.1 – 2.7 – 3.0.

iHeartMedia Sports “100.3 KFAN” KFXN-FM maintains its Twin Cities lead sliding 11.9 – 11.1 – 9.3. iHeart Classic Hits “Kool 108” KQQL holds at at 7.2 share. Hubbard Hot AC “KS 95” KSTP-FM is up 7.0 to 7.1 and ties for third with Public News/Talk 91.1 KNOW-FM at it is down 7.3 to 7.1, but its stream rises 1.4 to 1.7. Northwestern Media Christian AC 98.5 KTIS-FM is up 5.0 to 5.5.

Audacy News/Talk 830 WCCO rises 4.1 to 4.7 with its stream adding an additional 0.4. iHeart’s Conservative Talk “Twin Cities News Talk” 1130/103.5 KTLK is up 2.3 – 3.1 – 3.3.

Audacy Variety Hits “104.1 Jack-FM” KZJK rises 3.3 – 4.4 – 4.7. Cumulus Media’s currently “Under Construction” Classic Rock 92.5 KQRS-FM is up 4.1 to 4.5.

iHeartMedia Hip Hop “Hot 102.5” KTCZ-HD3 climbs 1.0 – 1.4 – 1.8.

Cox Soft AC 105.5 WDUV climbs 9.5 to 10.1. Radio Training Network Christian AC “The Joy FM” 91.5 WCIE is up 6.0 to 6.5 for its best share since April 2023. Cox Classic Rock “107.3 The Eagle” WXGL is down 6.1 to 5.7, while co-owned Adult R&B “101.5 The Vibe” WTBV-FM falls 6.6 to 5.5. iHeartMedia Country “US 103.5” WFUS (up 3.6 – 4.6 – 5.2) and Rock “98 Rock” WXTB (up 3.5 – 4.2 – 4.8 – 5.2) rise into a fifth place tie.

iHeartMedia News/Talk 970 WFLA climbs 2.2 – 3.0 – 4.0. CHR 93.3 WFLZ rises 3.1 – 3.7 – 3.9.

SBS Spanish Tropical “El Zol 97.1” WSUN-FM is up 1.1 – 2.2 – 2.4 for what Huff notes is its best share since July 2019 as Alternative “97X“. iHeart’s competing “Rumba 95.7” WRUB-FM is up 1.8 to 2.2. Beasley Spanish CHR “92.5 Maxima” WYUU slides 3.5 – 2.5 – 2.1.

iHeartMedia Classic Hip Hop “106.5 The Beat” WBTP rises 0.4 to 0.9.

Denver

KSE Media Classic Hits “Kool 105” KXKL rises 5.2 – 6.1 – 7.0. Bonneville AC 101.1 KOSI is up 5.4 to 6.1. iHeartMedia Alternative “Channel 93.3” KTCL jumps up 3.9 – 4.7 – 5.9. Bonneville Country 98.5 KYGO dips 5.8 to 5.4. Audacy Hot AC “Alice 105.9” KALC holds at a 4.7 share.

Public News/Talk 90.1 KCFR is down 4.9 to 4.4.

iHeart CHR “Hits 95.7” KDHT rises 3.6 to 4.0, while sister Classic Rock “103.5 The Fox” KRFX is down 4.4 to 3.9. iHeart Country “106.7 The Bull” KWBL gains 2.5 – 3.1 – 3.4.

iHeart Conservative Talk “Freedom 93.7” 760 KDFD is up 1.4 – 2.1 – 2.2, while co-owned News/Talk 850/94.1 KOA slides 2.9 – 2.1 – 1.9.

San Diego

Following the demise of Local Media San Diego Variety Hits “100.7 Big-FM” KFBG, Audacy Classic Hits “Sunny 98.1” KXSN surges up 7.4 to 9.0, which Ratings Expert Chris Huff notes is the largest ever on the frequency. Public News/Talk 89.5 KPBS-FM continues its rise 6.0 to 6.7. LMSD Rhythmic AC “Magic 92.5” XHRM-FM rises 4.9 to 5.4. LMSD Alternative “91X” XETRA-FM, which is currently simulcasting on 100.7 KFBG, surges up 2.5 – 3.8 – 5.3, which Huff notes is its best share since Summer 1992. Audacy AC 96.5 KYXY dips 5.5 to 4.9.

iHeartMedia Classic Rock 101.5 KGB-FM climbs 3.3 – 3.8 – 4.5. iHeart CHR “Channel 93.3” KHTS-FM gains 3.0 – 3.7 – 4.1.

Audacy’s Alternative “Alt 94.9” KBZT jumps up 2.4 – 3.1 – 3.7 for its best share since June 2019. Audacy Country 103.7 KSON is down 4.8 to 4.2.

Radio One Adult R&B “Magic 95.9” WWIN-FM climbs 6.1 – 7.1 – 8.0 to reclaim the Charm City lead. Hearst Rock “98 Rock” WIYY dips 7.5 to 6.9. Audacy AC “Today’s 101.9” WLIF is up 6.2 to 6.5. Radio One Hip Hop “92Q” WERQ drops 6.6 to 5.4. iHeartMedia Country 93.1 WPOC is up 4.5 to 5.3.

Brighter Media Group Christian AC “95.1 Bright-FM” WRBS-FM jumps 3.8 to 5.2. Shamrock Classic Rock “100.7 The Bay” WZBA trends up 2.9 – 3.5 – 4.1.

Public News/Talk 88.1 WYPR is up 3.2 to 3.8. Hubbard News 103.5 WTOP-FM Washington rises 1.1 – 1.5 – 1.7.
