Hubbard News 103.5 WTOP Washington DC has unveiled plans to revamp its Sports coverage as it expands its focus to video and analysis.
The progression will be led by Rob Woodfork as he is promoted to Senior Sports Analyst for the station. Woodfork has been with WTOP since 2011 and will now lead a daily commentary “DC Sports, Filtered” for both audio and video platforms which will be integrated into daily station programming. His evening sports reports will shift to a more narrative-driven format—placing less emphasis on scores and more on the broader storylines, implications, and analysis behind the news. In his new role, he will also provide written content, feature reporting, interviews and live event coverage.
Director of News and Programming Julia Ziegler said, “We are excited to announce Rob’s promotion. This is a key part of our long-term strategy to transform how we cover sports. We’re committed to delivering content that goes beyond highlights and final scores—focusing instead on context, analysis, and storytelling that resonates with today’s audience.”

The new coverage will debut on Monday, April 27.
