Cox Media Group has appointed Jay Shannon as Operations Manager for its San Antonio cluster starting May 4.
Shannon most recently programmed iHeartMedia AC “Star 102.1” KDGE and Hot AC “Mix 102.9” KDMX Dallas from 2014 until January 2025. He has also held roles as SVP/Programming for iHeartMedia Austin and programmed in San Antonio at Hip Hop “Hot 92.5” and CHR “Mix 96.1” KXXM and in other Texas markets.
He commented, “I’m beyond ecstatic to be joining the CMG San Antonio cluster. To be a part of one of the strongest radio groups in the country – with top-performing heritage formats – is truly a gift that’s not taken lightly. I’m thankful for this amazing opportunity.”

Shannon fills the opening created by Rob Roberts’ retirement in February.
