iHeartMedia has announced the appointment of Christopher ‘Boomer’ Layfield as VP/Programming for its nine stations in Louisville KY.

Layfield most recently served as Operations Manager for Vox AM/FM’s Burlington VT properties preceded by five and a half years as OM of Cumulus Indianapolis where he also programmed Country 95.5 WFMS and AC “107.9 The Mix” WNTR. He also had a long run at iHeartMedia programming CHR “Channel 96.1” WHQC and Variety Hits “102.9 The Lake” WLKO Charlotte NC from 2011-18 preceded by runs at “Z107.7” KSLZ St. Louis and WRVQ/WMXB Richmond. Layfield has also held positions at KHTS-FM San Diego, WKBQ St. Louis, WYHY/WRVW Nashville, and WZJZ Fort Myers.
