Overview:
Audacy Houston is searching for an interactive, innovative, 3rd voice to add to its award winning morning show, Payne and Pendergast. This personality must be able to contribute daily to a live and local show by bringing engaging content, entertaining sports and lifestyle conversations, and outside the box ideas to connect with the Houston audience both on air and via digital platforms. Strong communication skills, an understanding of all relevant social media platforms, and a full, honest investment in Houston sports are vital for this position. This is a live and local position that requires the personality to be based in the Houston area. Previous on-air experience in a medium to large market is ideal, but not necessary — most importantly, this position will require a talent with a proven ability to draw in and relate to a passionate and diverse audience.

Responsibilities
What You’ll Do:
- Create original content and develop daily conversations
- Engage with audience on air, online and in person
- Collaborate with other hosts for preparation on a daily basis, develop original content for conversations, and lead the conversation in certain segments of each day’s show
- Keep up with local and national sports stories, pop culture references, and general lifestyle topics
- Respectfully and responsibly uphold the standards of our brand partnership with the Houston Texans both on-air and on social media
- Protect the station’s FCC license in all on-air and digital programming
- Participate in and develop original content for digital and social media platforms
- Collaborate with Brand Manager and other employees to develop show benchmarks and participate in station-wide events and promotions
- Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and weekly coaching sessions
- Make appearances to promote the station, show, and sponsors.
- Travel to station and brand events and broadcasts when required, some of which include: Super Bowl Radio Row, the Army/Navy game, Houston Texans Training Camp, Houston Astros Spring Training, etc.
- Ensure that promotions and contests are executed properly
- Other duties as required by management
Qualifications
Required & Preferred:
- 5+ years On Air experience preferred
- Knowledge of the Houston market preferred
- Solid audio collection skills and working knowledge of studio audio equipment, including digital systems such as Sound Forge, Audition, & Wide Orbit.
- Proficiency in social media/digital content creation
- Willingness and availability to make scheduled appearances for sales and promotional purposes
- A coachable attitude… this position requires someone who is willing to work at their craft in order to be a valuable part of a winning team
- A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of the applicant’s own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.
