Travis Moon Joins KUBL Salt Lake City As Program Director

Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
July 31, 2017

K-Bull 93 93.3 KUBL Salt Lake City Travis MoonCumulus Country “K-Bull 93” 93.3 KUBL Salt Lake City has appointed Travis Moon as Program Director.

Moon was most recently Director of Country Operations for iHeartMedia’s four Country stations in Austin and San Antonio TX until his budget related exit in May. He has also programmed Hubbard Country “B105.1” WUBE Cincinnati and iHeartMedia Classic Hits “Kool 108” KQQL Minneapolis and has worked as APD/MD for “K102” KEEY Minneapolis and Senior Liaison of Radio Development for ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Hospital. This is a return to KUBL for Moon as he was APD/MD and afternoon host for the station in the mid 1990s.

Cumulus Media announces that it has appointed experienced Country radio programming professional Travis Moon as Program Director for KUBL-FM/K-Bull 93 in Salt Lake City. This marks a return to KUBL for Moon, who was Afternoon Host, Assistant Program Director and Music Director for the station earlier in his career.

Moon joins Cumulus from KAJA-FM (San Antonio, TX), KASE-FM and KVET-FM (Austin, TX), where he was Director of Country Operations/Afternoon Drive for iHeart Media. Moon was previously Program Director and Afternoon Drive Personality for KAJA-FM in San Antonio. He was also Senior Liaison of Radio Development for ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Nashville, TN. Moon was Program Director for Country station WUBE-FM in Cincinnati, OH, and was Assistant Program Director and Music Director for Country-formatted KEEY-FM in Minneapolis, MN. Moon holds a B.S. degree in Broadcasting from the University of Nebraska.

Pat Reedy, Vice President/Market Manager, Cumulus Media-Salt Lake City, said: “To have someone of Travis’ experience, knowledge and track record of programming winning country radio stations is very exciting. We can’t wait to get him in the KBULL stable and let him work his magic.”

Chris Hoffman, Operations Manager, Cumulus Media-Salt Lake City, said: “Travis’ vision for the station and his history with the K-Bull brand – That’s a winning combination!”

Moon said: “I want to thank Cumulus Media for the tremendous opportunity for me and my family to return to Salt Lake City. I was so proud to be part of the original launch of K-Bull 93 and it is extra special to come back and help lead one of the most awesome Country stations in America to new success. I can’t wait to get started and work with Market Manager Pat Reedy, Operations Manager Chris Hoffman, and the amazing Bull crew. Horns Up!”
