Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
February 8, 2018

Jerry Bader 1360 97.5 WTAQ Green BayJerry Bader has exited as 8:30-11am host at Midwest Communications’ 1360 WTAQ Green Bay/97.5 WTAQ-FM Glenmore WI in what he claims was due to “the manner in which I covered President Trump.”

Bader was syndicated to Midwest’s 550 WSAU Wausau/99.9 WSAU-FM Rudolph and 1330 WHBL/95.1 W268BR Sheboygan. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel states that Bader had recently changed the tagline of his program from “Close captioned for the reality impared” to “Truth over tribe”. He had been with Midwest since 2000 and at WTAQ since 2004.

.@Jerrybadershow says his employment was terminated by Midwest Communications today. "It was made clear to me that the reason was the manner in which I covered President Trump."

— Molly Beck (@MollyBeck) February 8, 2018

Former WTMJ Milwaukee host Charlie Sykes, who retired from 620 WTMJ Milwaukee in 2016 after his own criticisms of Trump and conservative media’s role in his success tweeted his own support of Bader.

Bader was a courageous, principled voice, who refused to join other talkers on Trump train despite threats from management. #Respect

Univision Communications appoints Eric Garcia as Director of Radio Sales for the company’s group in New York, effective immediately. In this role, he will oversee radio sales for WXNY-FM (La X 96.3), WQBU-FM (Que Buena 92.7) and WADO-AM (Univision Deportes Radio). Prior to joining Univision, Garcia served as VP/General Manager and Radio Revenue Chief for crosstown SBS. He’ll be headquartered in New York and report to Senior VP/Local Media Sales Antonio Roman.
“We look forward to having Eric Garcia join our winning team. He is a creative, innovative and a respected industry veteran-and the kind of sales leader our New York radio portfolio deserves and needs to propel our sales strategy to new heights,” said Roman. “Under his leadership, Univision New York will look to expand its strategic partnerships with agencies and brands by connecting them to Univision’s dynamic Hispanic audience to help drive growth.”

Garcia also previously served as vice president of sales and national sales manager of SBS. During this time, he led national sales efforts for SBS’ New York properties, WSKQ & WPAT and introduced digital sales strategy. The station has also announced the promotion of prodcuer Chase McCabe to Assistant Program Director.

ESPN 102.5 The Game is proud to announce a new weekday morning show, “Morning Drive,” with hosts Braden Gall, Nick Kayal and former NFL star, Derrick Mason. The show will air from 6 to 10 AM beginning Monday, February 12, 2018.
