Entercom Sports 660 WFAN/101.9 WFAN-FM New York will split their simulcast for the first time since it began in 2012 in order to carry both New York Yankees baseball and New York Giants football.
During the split, the Yankees will air on 101.9 WFAN-FM while the Giants air on 660 WFAN. By limiting to the weekly football/baseball conflicts, the station will be able to remain under Nielsen’s total line reporting rules to stay listed as one station in the ratings. Stations are allowed to break simulcast for up to 134 quarter hours (33.5 hours) per ratings period.
Entercom, a leading media and entertainment company and the unrivaled leader in sports radio, today announced WFAN (WFAN-FM/AM), New York’s flagship sports station and the radio home of the New York Yankees and New York Giants, will split its FM and AM signals on select dates to provide listeners continuous coverage of both teams. During conflicting game dates, New York Giants football games will be broadcast on the station’s AM dial Sports Radio 66 (WFAN-AM). Coverage of Yankees baseball games will continue to be heard on FM dial Sports Radio 101.9 (WFAN-FM).
