WTMJ Revamps Weekday Lineup With More News & Political Talk

Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
April 14, 2025

620 WTMJ MilwaukeeGood Karma Brands News/Talk 620 WTMJ Milwaukee will debut a revised weekday lineup on Wednesday, April 16 as it increases its news and political talk output.

“Wisconsin’s Morning News” hosted by Vince Vitrano & Erik Bilstad will be expanded by an hour to run from 6-10am. Steve Scaffidi, who had been hosting “The Political Power Hour” from 9-10am, and Kristin Brey, who had been co-hosting “Spanning The State” from 1-3pm with Brian Noonan until Noonan’s exit in March, will team for “Point Taken” from 10am to 12pm.

“Wisconsin’s Midday News” with Greg Matzek & Jessica Tighe moves from 11am-1pm to 12-3pm. “Wisconsin’s Afternoon News” with John Mercure & Julia Fello follows from 3-6pm and “What’s On Tap” hosted by Sandy Maxx from 6-8pm. The Dave Ramsey Show airs from 8pm-12am on nights with no Sports coverage.

Leaving the weekday lineup and moving to Saturdays is the local business focused “The Upswing” hosted by former OnMilwaukee Founder/CEO Jeff Sherman in the 10am hour.

Good Karma Brands Milwaukee Market Manager Greg Scalzo said, “We are extremely excited to be evolving our lineup to best serve fans across Wisconsin with trusted and relevant news content that will center around the biggest, most impactful stories each day. Our team is committed to meeting fans where they are with credible information and analysis that they can trust and engage with.”

Director of Content Mike Spaulding added, “We have a lineup full of extremely talented hosts and are excited to continue to showcase their abilities as part of this new lineup. There’s a desire now more than ever by our fans to be plugged into the current events happening in Wisconsin and across the country and believe this lineup gives us the best opportunity to do that.”

Discussing their new show, Brey said, “Steve first invited me to come onto his show back in 2020 and we hit it off immediately. He is largely the reason I have a career in radio at all. After years of being a guest on each other’s shows or a fill in host, I am so excited that we finally have the chance to tussle with the biggest political stories of the day with each other every weekday. We rarely agree but we always have fun and I think that’s the kind of energy that makes good radio and interesting conversations.” Scaffidi commented, “I’m thrilled to finally be able to work with Kristin on a daily basis. We recently launched our podcast, You Need to Listen, but having two hours with her each weekday morning will offer our fans and listeners a chance to hear our unique perspectives on the news of the day.”

The lineup revamp comes after WTMJ’s February 2024 revamp that saw the elimination of many talk shows and the move to themed programs.
