Jay Michaels is returning to Indianapolis as APD/MD of Radio One’s duo of Country “97.1 Hank-FM” WLHK and AC “B105.7” WYXB.

Michaels previously programmed Cumulus Media’s duo of CHR “I94” WRWM turned Classic Hip Hop “93.9 The Beat” turned CHR “Energy 93.9” WYRG and Classic Hits 104.5 WJJK from 2012 to 2018. He most recently has been operating a voicetracking and station content services business after exiting as APD of KHMX and KKHH Houston in June 2025. Michaels also spent four years as Operations Manager for Cumulus Media Shreveport LA and PD/morning host for Hot AC “Q97.3” KQHN from 2019 to 2023 and has also worked at WMGI Terre Haute, WDJX Louisville, and WSTO Evansville IN.

He commented, “The timing of the universe is magical sometimes. As one chapter in my life wrapped up in July, another chapter presented itself. My most favorite moments of my professional life was spent in Indianapolis. With 2 #1 stations in their demo at the same time (WJJK and 93.9 The Beat), and the magical moments of launching The Beat; and some of my most favorite moments of my personal life was spent in Indianapolis… so, it seems perfect to start this next chapter in Indianapolis.”
