Anton Muhammad’s BlackSun Private Equity has announced that Oceanic Tradewinds President Gary Bernstein will serve as the company’s Senior Strategic Advisor for Media, Content and Broadcast.

Bernstein will advise Blacksun on strategies involving content development and distribution, talent and creator relationships, brand partnerships, sports and entertainment initiatives, and the evaluation of radio and other media opportunities. Blacksun has raised $1 billion for its first investment cycle and seeks to reach $7 billion to invest across sports, media, entertainment and technology. Among its recent acquisitions were the majority of High Plains Radio Network’s stations in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Blacksun says that Bernstein will use his previous experience “developing broadcast talent, creating and syndicating programming, and connecting content, brands and distribution platforms” to help shape disciplined strategies designed to build durable media properties and culturally relevant audience platforms.
