Radio Remembers Kidd Kraddick

Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
July 28, 2013

The tributes to Kidd Kraddick have poured in on Twitter in the aftermath of the news of his death.

I've barely slept and am still at a loss for words. Devastated. #RIPKiddKraddick #Pray http://t.co/XGB3GO4ujB

— Billy The Kidd (@billyontheradio) July 28, 2013

Kid Kraddick – sad, sad, sad for radio, his family & his listeners. Great to see him at WWRS this year, and now he's gone.

— Fred Jacobs (@fnjacobs) July 28, 2013

Crushed. Absolutely crushed. One of my mentors and best friends in radio. RT @mcuban: RIP Kidd Kraddick. You were an amazing man & a friend.

— Kevin Robinson (@robinsonradio) July 28, 2013

I'm stunned, just speechless that Kidd Kraddick is dead. Legendary DFW radio host, but just a fantastic human being more importantly. #RIP

— matt haze (@MattHaze) July 28, 2013

Awhile ago Kidd took time to tell me more about it. You would think those Thousands of children were all his own. He truly cared for them.

— matt haze (@MattHaze) July 28, 2013

It is depressing to find out on twitter that one of your coworkers has died. 1st stage of grief is absolute total denial. I can't believe it

— Jessie Jessup (@JessieJessup) July 28, 2013

Aaron Tyler of Bluewater Broadcasting Montgomery and Hits 100.7 Bloomington, IL sent us the following message:

It is unfortunate that it takes the tragic, untimely, passing of someone in the industry to get all of the radio industry united as one family, regardless of who we happen to work for or who we compete with on a day-to-day basis. I think that we – and I am just as guilty of this as the next person – have a tendency to forget that, although we may be competitors and we may “hate” the competition, we are all human beings with families, off the air lives, our own problems, and our own real emotions. It’s time that we all put aside our competitive differences and support each other as human beings and real people. I think that would be a great legacy to add to the extensive list of other things that he will be remembered for; Kidd Kraddick reunited an entire industry as one voice and one family.
