Mount Wilson FM Broadcasters has broken its “Z Country 97.9/106.7” simulcast in Monterey, CA.
While the Country format continues on 97.9 KYZZ Salinas, 106.7 K294CA Monterey/KYZZ-HD2 has flipped to CHR “Hot Hits 106.7“. The September 1 launch places K294CA between Mapleton Communications Adult CHR “101.7 The Beach” KCDU and iHeartMedia Rhythmic CHR 102.5 KDON.
KYZZ had begun simulcasting on 106.7 in March to improve its coverage in and around Monterey. The station relocated to a new tower site right outside Monterey last month while increasing from a Class A to B1 negating the need for the simulcast anymore.
