Cumulus Media Hot AC “Mix 107.3” WRQX Washington DC has announced a pair of staff promotions.
Music Director/Midday Host Ashley Nickels has been promoted to Assistant Program Director under PD Rob Roberts. Nickels joined then CHR “All The Hits 107.3” in 2014 for nights from Entercom’s “107.9 The End” KDND Sacramento and has also hosted at 98.5 KLUC Las Vegas.
Weekend host Seth King has been tabbed to fill the 7pm-12am slot vacated by the exit of Kristie McIntyre earlier this year. King has previously worked at CHR “95 Triple X” WXXX Burlington VT, CHR “103.7 Kiss-FM” WXSS Milwaukee, AAA “105.5 Triple M” WMMM Madison, and Alternative 95.5 WBRU Providence.
Cumulus Media announces two staff promotions at WRQX Mix 107.3 in Washington, D.C. The company has promoted WRQX Mix 107.3 Music Director Ashley Nickels to Assistant Program Director for the station. In addition to her new role, Nickels will continue as Host, Middays, on WRQX Mix 107.3. Nickels joined Cumulus Media and WRQX Mix 107.3 in 2014 from KDND-FM in Sacramento, CA. Prior to that, she was Host, Nights, on KLUC in Las Vegas, NV.
In addition, Cumulus has promoted WRQX Mix 107.3 part-time radio personality Seth King as full-time Host, Nights, on the station. King’s show airs Monday through Friday from 7pm-12 Midnight. Prior to joining WRQX Mix 107.3, King was on-air at Top 40 station WXXX-FM in Burlington, VT. He has also held on-air positions at: WBRU-FM in Providence, RI; WXSS-FF in Milwaukee, WI; and WMMM-FM in Madison, WI.
Rob Roberts, WRQX Mix 107.3 Program Director, said: “Ashley was doing the job the day I walked in the building on January 1st. I’m just making it official. She’s an amazing talent with a great work ethic and passion for the station, music and promotions.”
Roberts continued: “When I first heard Seth’s aircheck, I knew there was something special about him. It was one of those moments PD’s are hoping for when they listen to someone new. Now, after hearing him on the station part-time these last few months, I knew he was the guy who could shake things up. Seth is ready for D.C. and D.C. is ready for Seth!”
