On the heels of forcing a rebranding at Entercom’s 101.9 WQMP Orlando by first utilizing the “Alt” brand on an HD subchannel, iHeartMedia is prepping to do the same in another market.
Yesterday we reported that Woody Show co-host Jason ‘Menace’ McMurry registered eight domains to block potential usage by a rebranded Entercom Alternative “Live 105” 105.3 KITS San Francisco to “Alt 105.3“. Today iHeartMedia has followed up with Alt949FM.com which is promoting “The Bay’s New Alternative” to debut on 94.9 KYLD-HD3.
Additionally anonymous registrations have been made for Alt925.com and Alt1075.com. No clues yet where these may be destined for use.
