IHeartMedia has announced that Tamo Sein will take the 12-3pm slot at “Alt 104.9” KLLT Columbia IL/St. Louis and “Alt 106.3” KDXA Ankeny/Des Moines IA.
Sein will continue to serve as APD/MD/Midday Host at “106.5 The End” WEND Charlotte NC. She joined WEND in November 2017 from iHeart’s just sold Richmond VA cluster where she was Music Director and afternoon host at Alternative “XL 102.1” WRXL and worked for current iHeartMedia’s St. Louis Region Director of Alternative Rock Programming Dustin Fletcher.
iHeartMedia announced today that Tamo has been named Midday Personality for ALT 104.9, St. Louis’ Alternative Rock station, and ALT 106.3, Des Moines’ Alternative Rock station, effective immediately. iHeartMedia St. Louis and iHeartMedia Des Moines have a strong cross-platform presence and include a number of iconic brands and franchises — both broadcast and digital — encompassing more than eight stations comprised of music, talk and news formats.
iHeartMedia has the leading consumer reach and influence across multiple platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company. Tamo will broadcast from 12 – 3p.m. on ALT 104.9 in St. Louis and ALT 106.3 in Des Moines. Her show will include a variety of Alternative Rock hits from artists such as Twenty One Pilots, blink-182, and Foo Fighters. She will report to Dustin Fletcher, Director of Alternative Rock Programming for iHeartMedia’s St. Louis Region and A.J., Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia’s St. Louis Region.
“No one can connect with an audience quite like Tamo,” Fletcher said. “Her unique perspective and creativity make her a super star on and off the air. Plus, we needed 25 percent more crazy, so she was our obvious first call.”
Tamo has over 13 years of experience in radio and currently serves as Assistant Program Director, Music Director, and mid-day host at WEND-FM in Charlotte, NC. From 2013 to 2017, she went from being a No. 1 rated CHR personality to hosting her own morning show on WXZX in Columbus, OH. She also previously served as Music Director and PM Drive Host for WRXL in Richmond, VA. Her extensive programming background also includes stations in Norfolk, VA; Austin, TX; Philadelphia, PA. Tamo is a graduate of Old Dominion University.
“I am beyond thrilled to join the ALT family,” said Tamo. “I hereby vow to keep a steady stream of complaint calls and emails funneled to Fletcher. Seriously, this is so exciting!”
Like the “Woody Show” in the mornings, might Tamo Sein’s midday show eventually end-up on most or all of iHeart’s alternative-rock stations??
No. The St. Louis region management has been utilizing the same talent among its stations in St. Louis, Des Moines and Wichita in multiple formats. Both Alternative PD Dustin Fletcher and the SVP/Programming both previously worked with her in Richmond.
Wendy Rollins is the primary voicetracker for middays on iHeart’s Premium Choice lineup.
Joe, you really need to stop extrapolating big things from small announcements.
