After 35 years paired together at Hubbard’s “1500 ESPN” KSTP St. Paul/Minneapolis, Joe Soucheray and Patrick Reusse will depart the station on September 7.
Soucheray currently hosts “Garage Logic” from 1-3pm and Reusse hosts “The Ride With Reusse” from 4-6pm with the duo teamed together in-between from 3-4pm. They began hosting together on Monday Night Sports Talk in 1983. Soucheray told his listeners he will continue Garage Logic as a podcast.
Also exiting the station will be Program Director Brad Lane. Lane has been with the station for 20 years starting as morning show producer before rising to Creative Director and weekend host and finally Program Director in 2011.
I believe that those shows were also still being syndicated regionally; at the very least, they’re listed on the site of Duluth/Superior’s KDAL, while KSTP’s site still has a general map of affiliates.
NorthPine notes a Strib story from Saturday (at http://www.startribune.com/kstp-radio-axes-joe-soucheray-and-patrick-reusse-after-35-years-on-the-air/490579471) that gives more detail: The late-morning “Mackey & Judd” show (which might be the only other local show airing daily) is also canceled–although the two hosts (Phil Mackey and Judd Zulgad) apparently will remain at the station. However, John Heidt–who was also on that show–has been let go (which he mentioned on Twitter).
