Main Street Broadcasting Company has sold Oldies 92.1 WLNG Sag Harbor NY to Sandra Foschi’s Bark Out Loud Dogs Media LLC for $3.9 million.
The $3.9 million purchase price is broken down with $3.2 million allocated towards the purchase of the waterfront studio property on Redwood Road in Sag Harbor, $125,000 for the station’s tower site on Millstone Road in Sag Harbor, and $525,000 for WLNG’s license and station assets.
The company is 100% owned by Foschi, a Physical Therapist who has no direct broadcasting experience. Her husband Bill Evans has been a meteorologist for WABC-TV New York since 1989 as well doing forecasts (and being part of the morning show) at Cumulus Media’s “Nash-FM 94.7” WNSH and 95.5 WPLJ. Evans also co-hosted morning shows at 97.5 WABB-FM Mobile AL (Goofy White Boys with Paul Fuller) and “Y95” 94.9 KHYI Dallas (with Trey Matthews) in the 1980s while concurrently serving as a television meteorologist in those markets. He began his radio career at the age of thirteen at WDAL in his hometown of Meridian MS.
WLNG is well known for its jingle and reverb heavy full service Oldies format.
Will the new owner keep the oldies format?
As it stands, yes. Everyone’s saying no major changes.
