Max Media AC “92.9 The Wave” WVBW Suffolk/Norfolk VA has announced that Jen Lewis is rejoining the company as midday host.
Lewis, who has been working at WAVY-TV for the past few years as a traffic reporter and midday news anchor, will take the midday slot currently held by VP/Operations and Programming Rusty James, who will now focus on his programming duties.
Lewis spent 19 years at sister Country “97.3 The Eagle” WGH-FM as morning co-host alongside Jimmy Ray Dunn until their exit in January 2015. She has also worked at “Z104” WNVZ and “FM 99” 98.7 WNOR during her career.
Jen Lewis makes her return to radio as Max Media welcomes her as the
new midday host on 92.9 The WAVE (WVBW). She replaces Rusty James who will now be able
to turn his full attention to his role as the Vice President of Operations and Programming for the Max Media – Norfolk cluster of 6 stations.Jen began her career in radio more than 25 years ago. She spent 19 years at 97.3 The Eagle/WGHFM where she co-hosted the popular Jimmy Ray and Jen Morning show. In 2015, Jen transitioned to television as she joined the #1 morning team on WAVY TV10/Fox 43. Jen served as traffic anchor, weekly midday news anchor, special projects reporter and Hampton Roads Show contributor.
“I’m so excited to get one of Hampton Roads most loved radio personalities back on the radio at 92.9 The WAVE,” remarked Rusty James, V.P. Operations and Programming at Max Media.
Jen is a Hampton Roads native and grew up in Yorktown, VA. She currently lives in Virginia Beach with her husband-Keith, daughter-AnnaLise, horse-Perry, dog-Billy and cat-Tink.
“Stepping back into the studio feels like home. I’m excited about returning to the Max Media family. 92.9 The Wave is my station! It’s the station I listen to all the time. I’m thrilled to host the midday show and spend each workday with new friends and old,” commented Mrs. Lewis.
