Midwest Communications has given two of its Tennessee leaders oversight over properties in both Knoxville and Nashville.
Nashville Operations Manager and AC “Mix 92.9” WJXA Nashville Program Directo/midday host Barbara Bridges will add progamming oversight for AC “B97.5” WJXB Knoxville. Bridges previously served as APD/MD at WJXB from 1994 to 1997 before she relocated to Nashville to program WJXA.
Also taking on a dual market role is Knoxville Director of Sales Jad Farmer as he rises to Regional Director of Sales adding oversight of Nashville. Farmer has been with the Knoxville cluster since 2000 serving as an Account Manager before rising to Director of Sales in 2021.
Midwest VP/Tennessee Region Michael Brody commented, “These appointments are not about combining markets — they are about strengthening them. Nashville and Knoxville each remain unique, locally focused operations. By elevating proven leaders like Barbara and Jad, we are creating greater alignment and sharing best practices while preserving the local decision-making that drives our success.”
With Bridges taking of WJXB, Shane Cox has departed as Program Director and afternoon host. Cox had programmed the station since 2014 after stints in the market programming Alternative “94.3 Planet Radio” turned Rock “94.3 Extreme Radio” and “94.3 The X” WNFZ, Rock “95.7 The X” WVRX, and on-air at Classic Rock 103.5 WIMZ.
