Entercom has eliminated the position of Portland Vice President of Programming and “99.5 The Wolf” KWJJ-FM Program Director Mike Moore.
Moore had programmed KWJJ since 2003 and was promoted to OM in 2013 and VP/Programming for the Portland cluster in 2016. Prior to coming to Portland he programmed WWKA Orlando from 1995-1999, WWYZ Hartford from 1999-2000, and WSIX Nashville from 2000-2003. He also serves on the board of the Country Music Association and was Entercom’s Director of Country Programming from 2006 until January of this year when he was supplanted by WYCD Detroit PD Tim Roberts.
Moore told Country Aircheck that he was informed today of the elimination of his position, “I would like to express my sincere appreciation to David Field, Weezie Kramer, Pat Paxton, Jack Hutchison, Kim Martinez and so many others for an amazing 16 year run at Entercom. During that time, we re-branded KWJJ as The Wolf, launched a number of new Country stations, worked through the CBS merger, raised thousands of dollars for charity and won a number of CMA awards. I will always cherish my time and the people here, and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store.”
