Morning host Kevin Kline has announced his retirement from Cox Media Group Country “93Q” 92.9 KKBQ Pasadena/Houston.
Kline and Tim Tuttle joined KKBQ in 2005 after co-hosting mornings together at Alternative “X101.5” WXSR Tallahassee and “107.7 The X” WRAX Birmingham. He had also worked at stations in Denver, Columbia MO, Springfield MO and his native St. Louis.
In making the announcement this morning, Kline noted that he and his wife plan on relocating internationally. He said that this past year allowed him to reflect and that “the amount of pressure I put on myself to succeed in everything I ever try prevents me from enjoying the endeavor and prohibits me from celebrating the outcome, I realized that the exhaustion I always feel after 5 hours on the radio isn’t because of the job, it’s because my depression and mental health issues force me to overuse my energy to be “up and happy”.
Tuttle and Erica Rico will remain in mornings on the “Q Morning Zoo”.
