Nielsen begins its monthly release of PPM ratings with today’s Day 1 update including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston/Galveston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Long Island, Riverside/San Bernardino, San Jose, and Middlesex/Somerset/Union.

New York

MediaCo Adult R&B 107.5 WBLS remains on top steady at a 6.5. Audacy Classic Hits 101.1 WCBS-FM jumps up 5.2 to 6.3 to move up to second. iHeartMedia AC “106.7 Lite-FM” WLTW dips 5.9 to 5.1 for what Ratings Expert Chris Huff notes is its lowest share in the PPM era. SBS Spanish Tropical “Mega 97.9” WSKQ is up 4.9 to 5.0 for fourth. iHeartMedia Classic Rock “Q104.3” WAXQ dips 4.8 to 4.3 to claim fifth.

With the start of the baseball season and NFL draft coverage, many Sports stations saw significant gains this month starting with Audacy’s 660 WFAN/101.9 WFAN-FM as it trends up 2.6 – 3.1 – 3.5.

Los Angeles

iHeartMedia takes the top three spots in Los Angeles. AC 103.5 KOST rises 5.5 to 5.8. Hot AC “104.3 My-FM” KBIG is up 4.8 to 5.2. News/Talk 640 KFI trends up 4.0 – 4.7 – 5.1. Audacy’s duo of Classic Hits “K-Earth 101” KRTH (4.9 to 5.0) and Rhythmic AC “94.7 The Wave” KTWV (4.8 to 4.9) follow.

Univision Spanish Adult Hits “Recuerdo 103.9/98.3” KRCD/KRDCV trends down 3.5 – 2.8 – 2.4. iHeartMedia Sports 570 KLAC rises 1.4 to 2.0. Audacy Alternative 106.7 KROQ inches up 1.3 – 1.4 – 1.5.

Chicago

iHeartMedia Adult R&B “V103” WVAZ holds onto its lead up 5.8 to 6.0. Hubbard Classic Rock “97.1 The Drive” WDRV jumps up to second 4.8 to 5.7. iHeartMedia AC “93.9 Lite-FM” WLIT inches up 5.0 to 4.1. Public News/Talk 91.5 WBEZ slips 5.4 to 4.8. Audacy News 780 WBBM/105.9 WCFS falls 5.5 to 4.6.

Hubbard Hot AC “101.9 The Mix” WTMX is up 2.9 to 3.8. Nexstar Talk 720 WGN trends down 4.6 – 3.5 – 3.1. Classical 98.7 WFMT trends up 1.5 – 2.2 – 2.6.

San Francisco

Public News/Talk 88.5 KQED-FM remains on top as it drops 9.0 to 7.7. Bonneville AC 96.5 KOIT rises to second 5.8 to 6.6. Audacy News 740 KCBS/106.9 KFRC trends down 7.3 – 7.0 – 6.1. iHeartMedia Hot AC “Star 101.3” KIOI is fourth 4.8 to 4.7, while sister Soft AC “98.1 The Breeze” KISQ surges up 3.3 to 4.6.

Following its relaunch halfway through the monthly, Audacy Classic Hip Hop “102 Jams” KRBQ continues to trend down 2.3 – 1.6 – 1.4.

Cumulus Sports 680 KNBR/104.5 KNBR-FM doubles its share with a 2.1 to 4.3 gain.

Dallas/Fort Worth

Univision Regional Mexican “Que Buena 94.1” KLNO holds onto the top spot despite falling 6.8 to 6.1. iHeartMedia Classic Rock “Lonestar 92.5” KZPS is second off 5.4 to 5.3. Following its shift to a gold-based presentation in March, Cumulus Media Country “99.5 The Wolf” KPLX surges up 3.4 to 4.4. Three stations tie for fourth: iHeartMedia CHR “106.1 Kiss-FM” KHKS (4.2 to 4.1), Service Broadcasting Adult R&B “Smooth 105.7” KRNB (4.3 to 4.1), and Audacy Variety Hits “100.3 Jack-FM” KJKK (4.8 to 4.1).

Trending up: Audacy Classic Hits 98.7 KLUV rises 3.1 to 4.0, while co-owned Regional Mexican “La Grande 107.5” KMVK is up 2.4 to 3.6, Sports “105.3 The Fan” KRLD-FM rises 1.6 – 2.2 – 2.5, and Alternative “Alt 103.7” KVIL moves 1.8 – 2.0 – 2.2. Salem Christian AC 94.9 KLTY rises 2.3 to 3.0. Service Broadcasting Hip Hop “K104” KKDA-FM falls 4.1 to 3.2. Cumulus CHR “Hot 93.3” KLIF-FM trends down 1.1 – .9 – .8.

Houston/Galveston

iHeartMedia AC “Sunny 99.1” KODA dips 7.5 to 6.8. Univision Regional Mexican “Que Buena 102.9” KLTN rises 5.8 to 6.4. Hope Media Group Christian AC 89.3 KSBJ falls to third down 6.2 to 5.8. Cox Media Group Classic Rock “107.5/106.9 The Eagle” KGLK/KHPT is fourth 5.4 to 5.6. Audacy Variety Hits “95.7 The Spot” KKHH holds at a 5.5 share.

Audacy Spanish CHR “Mega 101” KLOL trends up 2.9 – 3.3 – 4.3.

Atlanta

Cox Media Group takes the top four spots in Atlanta. Classic Rock “97.1 The River” WSRV leads despite slipping 8.1 to 7.4. Adult R&B “Kiss 104.1” WALR holds at a 7.3 share. News/Talk 750 WSB/95.5 WSBB dips 6.9 to 6.4. AC “B98.5” WSB-FM is off 5.9 to 5.4. Tying for fifth are Cumulus Media CHR “Q99.7” WWWQ (down 5.4 to 5.0) and Radio One Adult R&B “Majic 107.5/97.5” WAMJ/WUMJ (5.1 to 5.0).

Cumulus’ “New Country 101.5” WKHX surges up 3.4 to 4.5, while iHeartMedia’s competing “94.9 The Bull” WUBL trends 2.1 – 2.8 – 3.1. iHeartMedia CHR “Power 96.1” WWPW is up 3.2 – 3.3 – 4.5. Both Sports stations rise with Dickey Broadcasting’s “680/93.7 The Fan” WCNN is up 1.5 – 2.0 – 2.4 and Audacy’s “92.9 The Game” WZGC up 1.6 – 2.0 – 2.2.

Cumulus Classic Rock “Rock 100.5” WNNX trends down 2.2 – 2.0 – 1.5.

Philadelphia

iHeartMedia Adult R&B 105.3 WDAS-FM continues on top with an 8.2 to 7.3 drop. Beasley’s duo of Rock 93.3 WMMR (7.6 to 6.8) and Classic Rock 102.9 WMGK (5.4 to 6.2) follow. Audacy Classic Hits 98.1 WOGL rises 4.8 to 5.6 to tie for fourth. It would then relaunch as “Big 98.1” the day after the survey period ended. WOGL tied with Public News/Talk 90.9 WHYY-FM, which falls 6.9 to 5.6.

Audacy Sports 94.1 WIP jumps up 3.9 to 5.2. iHeartMedia Alternative “Alt 104.5” WRFF rises 1.9 – 2.2 – 2.4. University of Pennsylvania AAA 88.5 WXPN trends up 1.4 – 1.7 – 2.0.

In its first full monthly following its flip from Soft AC “The Breeze“, iHeartMedia Spanish Tropical “Rumba 106.1” WUMR rises 1.3 to 1.7.

Long Island

Audacy Classic Hits 101.1 WCBS-FM rises 5.2 to 5.4. iHeartMedia Classic Rock “Q104.3” WAXQ falls 6.8 to 5.3. Cox Classic Rock 102.3 WBAB/95.3 WHFM is up 4.9 to 5.2. Connoisseur Media Hot AC 97.5 WALK-FM is up 4.1 to 4.7. Connoisseur Classic Hits “103.1 Max-FM” WBZO holds at a 4.2.

Riverside/San Bernardino

Anaheim Broadcasting Classic Hits 99.9 KOLA leads up 7.5 to 7.6. iHeartMedia Hot AC “104.3 My-FM” KBIG trends up 3.1 – 3.7 – 4.6. Entravision Spanish Adult Hits “Jose 97.5” KLYY slips 5.3 to 4.4. Univision Regional Mexican “La 101.9” KSCA rises 3.6 to 4.1. Estrella Media Regional Mexican “Que Buena 96.1” KRQB is off 4.4 to 4.0.

San Jose

Empire Broadcasting Country 95.3 KRTY continues its dominance in its final months down 10.9 to 9.3. Bonneville AC 96.5 KOIT holds steady at a 6.2 share, while sister Classic Rock “98.5 K-Fox” KUFX rises 4.4 to 5.3. Univision Spanish AC “Amor 100.3” KBRG and Audacy News 740 KCBS/106.9 KFRC tie for fourth as both hold steady at a 4.4 share.

Following its flip from AC to Country “Bay Country” in the first week of the monthly, Alpha Media’s 94.5 KBAY slips 5.7 to 3.7. Alpha Hot AC “Mix 106.5” KEZR rises 3.5 to 4.0.

Middlesex/Somerset/Union

Townsquare Media Talk/Classic Hits “New Jersey 101.5” WKXW remains on top of the publicly listed stations down 6.8 to 6.1. SBS Spanish Tropical “Mega 97.9” WSKQ holds at 5.8. iHeartMedia CHR “Z100” WHTZ is steady at a 4.7. Audacy Classic Hits 101.1 WCBS-FM falls 5.8 to 4.4. iHeartMedia Classic Rock “Q104.3” WAXQ is off 4.7 to 4.0
