104.5 The Zone Nashville Debuts Ramon, Kayla & Will In Mornings

Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
October 4, 2022

104.5 The Zone WGFX NashvilleCumulus Media Sports “104.5 The Zone” WGFX Gallatin/Nashville TN has relaunched its morning show as “Ramon, Kayla & Will” with the arrival of Kayla Anderson.

Anderson joins WGFX from WKRN-TV Nashville where she has been a sports anchor, reporter, and digital contributor for the past six years and will continue on a freelance basis. She has previously worked in Spokane, Missoula, Tucson, and Columbus OH.

She joins existing co-host Ramon Foster, who has been with WGFX since September 2020 following an 11 year NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans, and Will Boling who moved up to mornings in August following the exit of former co-host Jason Martin. Boling has been with WGFX for the past four years in multiple roles including digital producer, high school football announcer, Titans post-game host and fill-in host

104.5 The Zone/WGFX-FM, Cumulus Media’s premier live and local Sports Talk radio station serving Nashville and Middle Tennessee, announces that it will bring together an exciting new team of popular sports broadcasters to kick off mornings on the station. Joining 104.5 The Zone favorite, Ramon Foster – the recently retired 11-year NFL offensive lineman and Vol for Life – as Morning Co-Hosts are Kayla Anderson and Will Boling. The new morning show will debut on 104.5 The Zone on (October 5th) from 6:00am-10:00am.

Kayla Anderson is a familiar face with Nashville sports fans and joins 104.5 The Zone from Nashville’s News 2 TV, where she has been a sports anchor, reporter, and digital contributor for six years. Anderson will take her passion for Nashville sports into the locker room to tell the human stories behind the headlines and scores for Nashville’s favorite teams, matchups, and players. She will continue to do freelance reports for News 2. Before landing in Music City, Anderson spent three years in Columbus, OH, where she covered everything from Ohio State’s 2014 National Championship to the Cleveland Indians’ run in the 2016 World Series. She started her broadcasting career as a news/sports reporter in Bend, OR, and has covered sports in markets including her native Spokane, WA, Missoula, MT, and Tucson, AZ.

Rounding out 104.5 The Zone’s morning team is Will Boling, a lifelong Nashvillian and Tennessee Vols alum, who brings a fresh local perspective to covering the sports scene. Boling has been heard on 104.5 The Zone for four years, as the high school football announcer, Titans post-game host, and fill-in host for the station. He joined the team at 104.5 The Zone as a part-time digital producer, working his way up to head digital producer, and then to part-time host, and now makes his debut as Morning Show Co-Host. Boling discovered his love for play-by-play while still in high school in Middle Tennessee, as a commentator for Brentwood Academy football. He was also assistant broadcaster for the Tennessee Smokies (AA-Chicago Cubs).

Paul Mason, Operations Manager, Titans Radio/104-5 The Zone WGFX-FM, said: “Ramon Foster has a tremendous natural ability to connect with sports fans in morning radio, and our listeners love him. Bringing Ramon together with experienced television sports anchor and reporter Kayla Anderson and hometown broadcaster Will Boling creates a truly special dynamic that will make for some great morning sports radio!”

Ramon Foster commented: “Really looking forward to starting Nashville and Middle Tennessee mornings off right with great energy and all of your sports and entertainment needs. I’m excited to work with Kayla and Will for years to come!”

Kayla Anderson remarked: “After spending the last 15 years in local TV covering sports, I’m thrilled to venture into Sports Talk radio, joining 104.5 The Zone in the mornings with Ramon, Will and producer Jonathan Shaffer. I’m truly looking forward to hanging with this talented crew, talking sports, interacting with the listeners, and having lots of fun doing it!”

Will Boling added: “I’m thrilled to be a part of this new morning team. It’s a dream come true to host a daily show on a station I’ve listened to my whole life, and it’s a privilege to interact with my hometown sports community that I care deeply about.”

104.5 The Zone brings it all together – on-air, streaming, on-demand, on Zone TV, at live events, and through expanded sports coverage and entertainment through the station’s content partnership with A to Z Sports – to deliver the best live and local sports content to fans wherever they are and whenever they want it.
