Randy McCarten has announced he will retire from mornings on iHeartMedia Hot AC “99.5 The River” WRVE Schenectady/Albany NY on Friday, December 9.
McCarten took over mornings at WRVE in May 2020 after being laid off from his previous role as SVP/Programming for the Albany cluster the previous January after a 24 year run in which he also programmed WRVE and Classic Hits 98.3 WTRY-FM and CHR “102.3 Kiss-FM” WKKF at various times. Prior to joining WRVE in 1996, McCarten programmed “95 WIIL Rock” WIIL Kenosha WI.
