After two decades with Entercom/Audacy, Matt Wheeler is joining iHeartMedia as Director of Imaging for CHR 102.7 KIIS-FM Los Angeles.
Wheeler joins iHeart from Audacy Austin where he has served as Creative Director/Assistant Program Director/ Video Producer for Hot AC “Mix 94.7” KAMX, AC “Majic 95.5” KKMJ, and Rhythmic AC “Hot 95.9” KKMJ-HD3 since 2016. He previously spent thirteen years in Sacramento in the same role from 2003-16 and was also Production/Imaging Director and on-air for Styles Media Group in Panama City FL from 2001-03.
iHeartMedia Los Angeles today announced that Matt Wheeler has been named Director of Imaging for 102.7 KIIS FM, Los Angeles’ #1 Hit Music Station & Home of Ryan Seacrest, effective immediately. iHeartMedia Los Angeles has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises — both broadcast and digital — encompassing more than eight stations comprised of music, talk and news formats.
iHeartMedia has the leading consumer reach and influence across multiple platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company. As Director of Imaging, Matt Wheeler is responsible for producing audio, writing scripts, managing and archiving audio assets and collaborating with members of other teams to ensure the highest level of quality possible is delivered on a consistent basis. Matt reports to Beata Murphy, Program Director for iHeartMedia’s KIIS FM in Los Angeles.

Matt joins the iHeartMedia Los Angeles with extensive experience in imaging, production and as an on-air talent. He started his career in 2001 in Panama City FL as Production Director/Imaging Director/Air Talent for WILN / WYOO / WVVE / WYYX / WPCF. In 2003, Matt moved to Sacramento as Imaging Director/Assistant Program Director/Video Producer /Air Talent for KDND / KWOD / KBZC/ KUDL. From 2016 through his move to KIIS FM in Los Angeles, he called Austin home as Creative Director / Assistant Program Director / Video Producer for KAMX / KKMJ / KKMJ-HD3.
