Nielsen Audio has released Day 2 of its monthly four day sweep of ratings in PPM markets.

Today’s releases include Washington DC, Boston, Seattle, Miami/Fort Lauderdale, Phoenix, Detroit, Minneapolis, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Denver, San Diego, Baltimore, and St. Louis.

Washington DC

Public News/Talk 88.5 WAMU expands its lead 11.7 to 12.1. Hubbard News 103.5 WTOP inches up 8.9 to 9.0. iHeartMedia AC 97.1 WASH rises 5.9 to 7.3, which is way down from its Christmas music 9.6 share in December 2023. Howard University Adult R&B 96.3 WHUR slides 8.5 – 7.6 – 7.0. Classical 90.1 WETA-FM rises 4.4 to 5.0.

iHeartMedia Alternative “DC 101” WWDC jumps up 3.6 to 4.6 for what Ratings Expert Chris Huff notes is its best share since January 2022.

Audacy Classic Hits “94.7 The Drive” WIAD skids 4.0 – 3.3 – 3.1. Radio One Gospel “Praise 104.1” WPRS-FM swings 2.3 – 3.4 – 2.3.

Boston

Audacy AC “Magic 106.7” WMJX rises to the top of the market 5.8 to 8.3, down a share from its 9.3 with Christmas music last December, while its stream is up 0.5 to 0.9. Beasley’s “98.5 The Sports Hub” WBZ-FM dips 8.5 to 8.2. iHeartMedia News 1030 WBZ continues its climb 4.4 – 5.5 – 5.8 – 6.0 for what Huff notes is its best showing since February 2022. Beasley Classic Hits 105.7 WROR inches up 5.8 to 5.9. Audacy Hot AC “Mix 104.1” WWBX slips 6.1 to 5.4.

iHeart Conservative Talk 680 WRKO jumps 4.0 to 5.0 for its best share since February 2021. After its 4.5 to 5.9 gain, iHeart Classic Rock 100.7 WZLX drops back down to a 4.8 following the exit of new morning host Rich Shertenlieb.

iHeart CHR “Kiss 108” WXKS-FM is down 4.7 to 4.1. Beasley Rhythmic Hot AC “Hot 96.9” WBQT is up 2.7 to 3.2.

Public News/Talk 90.9 WBUR-FM dips 4.2 to 4.0, while competitor 89.7 WGBH-FM slides 4.2 – 3.9 – 3.6.

Seattle/Tacoma

Hubbard AC “Warm 106.9” KWRM is up 6.1 to 7.3 with the station growing from its 6.0 share in 2023 thanks to Audacy’s 94.1 KSWD not going all-Christmas this year following its flip to Hot AC “Emma 94.1” in September. KSWD had a 4.9 share in December 2023. iHeartMedia Classic Rock 102.5 KZOK inches up 6.6 to 6.7. Public News/Talk 94.9 KUOW-FM falls 8.5 – 8.1 – 6.3. Bonneville News/Talk 97.3 KIRO-FM dips 5.3 to 5.0. iHeartMedia Classic Rock “95.7 The Jet” KJEB holds at a 4.9 share.

Crista Ministries Christian AC “Spirit 105.3” KCMS-FM rises 2.4 to 3.2. Despite not going all-Christmas until Thanksgiving Day, the station gained from its 2.0 last December due to the absence of KSWD.

Jazz/News 88.5 KNKX continues its climb 2.3 – 3.0 – 3.2 – 3.8. AAA 90.3 KEXP rises 2.8 – 3.0 – 3.4.

iHeartMedia CHR “Hits 106.1” KBKS rises 3.5 to 3.8, while Hubbard CHR “Movin 92.5” KQMV is down 3.8 to 3.4. Audacy Hot AC “Emma 94.1” KSWD is up 2.5 to 2.9.

Lotus News 1000 KNWN/97.7 KNWN-FM falls 3.7 to 2.9.

Miami/Fort Lauderdale

Cox Adult R&B “Hot 105” WHQT maintains its lead down 9.9 to 8.7. Sister Soft AC “Easy 93.1” WFEZ gains 5.4 to 6.2. Public News/Talk 91.3 WLRN-FM is up 5.3 to 5.6 which ties its record high share set in March. Univision Spanish AC “Amor 107.5” WAMR inches up 5.5 to 5.6. Audacy AC “101.5 Lite-FM” WLYF is up 5.0 to 5.3.

No station in Miami went all-Christmas.

iHeartMedia Bilingual AC “Magic 93.9” WMIA-FM falls 6.2 – 5.7 – 5.3 – 4.4. iHeart News/Talk 610 WIOD is up 2.6 to 3.2, which Huff notes is the station’s best share since January 2010.

SBS Spanish Topical “El Zol 106.7” WXDJ rises 2.6 – 2.8 – 3.1.

iHeartMedia Hip Hop “103.5 The Beat” WMIB is up 2.5 to 3.0. Cox Hip Hop “99 Jamz” WEDR slides 2.9 – 2.4 – 2.1 for what is the lowest share on the station since Spring 1989.

Audacy Rhythmic Throwbacks “Power 96” WPOW-FM drops 3.5 to 2.8. iHeartMedia CHR “Y100” WHYI dips 2.4 to 2.3 which is enough to match its PPM low set in March 2020.

Phoenix

iHeartMedia AC “99.9 KEZ” KESZ rises 8.3 to 12.3, but is down nearly three shares from its massive 15.2 share last December. Hubbard Classic Rock 100.7 KSLX dips 6.4 to 5.9. iHeart Country 102.5 KNIX climbs 3.7 to 4.3 to tie for third with sister Conservative Talk 550 KFYI as it slips 4.9 to 4.3. iHeart Variety Hits “95.5 The Mountain” KYOT and Hubbard Rock 97.9 KUPD both inch up 4.1 to 4.2.

Audacy Country 107.9 KMLE swings 3.4 – 3.9 – 3.4. Bonneville’s “Arizona Sports 98.7” KMVP-FM slides 4.0 – 3.7 – 3.3. Audacy Classic Hits “Big 94.5” KOOL-FM trends down 4.2 – 3.8 – 3.7 – 3.3.

iHeartMedia CHR “104.7 Kiss-FM” KZZP trends up 1.8 – 2.5 – 2.8 for its best share since October 2023. Audacy CHR “Live 101.5” KALV-FM was up 2.2 to 2.3.

Zelus Oldies “The Wow Factor 94.9/95.1” KOAI slides 3.4 – 2.9 – 2.7. Sierra H Broadcasting Rhythmic Throwbacks “101 The Bounce” KZCE trends down 2.4 – 2.0 – 1.7.

Detroit

One of the handful year-to-year Christmas music gainers is iHeartMedia AC 100.3 WNIC as it rises 8.8 to 13.1, up from an 11.8 last year. Audacy Sports “97.1 The Ticket” WXYT-FM trends down 11.4 – 9.7 – 8.3 with its stream down 2.7 – 2.1 – 1.8. Audacy Classic Hits 104.3 WOMC rises 6.2 to 7.1. iHeart CHR “Channel 95.5” WKQI is down 6.6 to 6.0. Three stations tie for fifth. Both Beasley Classic Rock 94.7 WCSX and Audacy Country 99.5 WYCD are down 5.9 to 5.5, while iHeartMedia Adult R&B “Mix 92.3” WMXD holds at a 5.5 share.

Audacy News 950 WWJ slides 5.4 – 4.9 – 4.5, while sister “Alt 98.7” WDZH falls 4.0 to 3.4.

Classical 90.9 WRCJ rises 1.7 to 2.6 for what Huff notes is its best showing since September 2020. WRCJ’s stream adds an additional 0.5 share.

Minneapolis/St. Paul

iHeartMedia Sports “100.3 KFAN” KFXN-FM maintains its market lead inching up 11.0 to 11.1. iHeart Classic Hits “Kool 108” KQQL rises 6.8 to 10.7, but its Christmas music is down from a 12.2 in 2023. Hubbard Hot AC “KS 95” KSTP-FM dips 7.1 to 6.9. Northwestern Media Christian AC 98.5 KTIS-FM slides 8.5 – 7.7 – 6.3, which brings the station down heavily from its Christmas music 9.6 share in 2023. Public News/Talk 91.1 KNOW-FM drops 7.5 to 6.1 and its stream is off 1.5 to 1.3.

AAA “89.3 The Current” KCMP jumps up 3.7 – 4.2 – 5.4 for what Huff notes is its largest share since March 2022. Audacy Variety Hits “104.1 Jack-FM” KZJK gains 4.0 to 4.7.

iHeartMedia Modern AC “Cities 97.1” KTCZ rises 3.3 to 4.3 for its best showing since April 2023. Cumulus Soft AC “Love 105” WGVX/WLUP/WWWM-FM rises 1.4 to 1.9.

Cumulus Rock “93X” KXXR falls 4.5 to 3.6. iHeartMedia Country “K102” KEEY slides 4.8 – 4.0 – 3.4. Classical 99.5 KSJN drops 2.9 to 1.8.

Tampa/St. Petersburg

With its move to Christmas music even earlier than before (changing on November 1), Cox Soft AC 105.5 WDUV dips 9.4 to 9.3, but is one of the few year-to-year gainers up from an 8.2 last December. The biggest gainer is Cox Adult R&B “101.5 The Vibe” WTBV as it sets a new frequency record high for the second month in a row with a massive 6.7 to 8.5 jump. Cox Classic Rock “107.3 The Eagle” WXGL continues its upward trend 4.5 – 5.2 – 5.4 – 6.0. Radio Training Network Christian AC “The Joy FM” 91.5 WCIE is up 4.8 to 5.6 with its Christmas music also up from a 5.0 in 2023. Beasley Media Country 99.5 WQYK inches up 5.3 to 5.4.

The third all-Christmas station in the market, iHeartMedia AC “Mix 100.7” WMTX dips 5.2 to 4.9, which is slightly off from its 5.1 in 2023.

iHeartMedia Country “US 103.5” WFUS is down for the fourth straight month 5.1 to 4.8. Cox Hot Talk “102.5 The Bone” WHPT is down 3.9 to 3.2. iHeartMedia News/Talk 970 WFLA falls 3.8 to 2.9.

Cox Hot AC “Magic 94.9” WWRM rises 3.7 to 4.2. Beasley Classic Hits “Q105” WRBQ climbs 3.0 to 3.9.

Beasley Rhythmic CHR “Wild 94.1” WLLD slides 4.6 – 3.9 – 3.2. iHeart CHR 93.3 WFLZ dips 3.3 to 2.9 and recently moved Spanish CHR “Rumba 95.7” WRUB drops 2.3 to 1.5.

Denver

Bonneville AC 101.1 KOSI rises 7.1 to 9.3 but its Christmas music is down from a 10.1 share in December 2023. KSE Media Classic Hits “Kool 105” KXKL is up 6.2 to 6.5. Audacy Hot AC “Alice 105.9” is off 5.8 to 5.7. Bonneville Country 98.5 KYGO takes a 7.1 to 5.5 hit. Public News/Talk 90.1 KCFR gains 4.1 to 5.1 for its best share since September 2021.

Audacy Classic Rock “99.5 The Mountain” KQMT dips 5.0 to 4.6. iHeart Alternative “Channel 93.3” KTCL was down 5.0 to 4.5, while Classic Rock “103.5 The Fox” KRFX-FM continues its months long dive 7.1 – 6.3 – 5.3 – 4.7 – 4.4 – 3.8.

iHeart CHR “Hits 95.7” KDHT is up 3.1 to 3.8 for what Huff notes is its best share since October 2020. KSE Media Hot AC “Mix 100” KIMN continues its slide post morning show change down 3.1 – 2.8 – 2.6 to match the station’s PPM low set in Holiday 2015.

iHeartMedia Rock 107.9 KBPI is down 1.9 to 1.2, while sister Talk 630 KHOW slides 1.7 – 1.5 – 1.1.

San Diego

Audacy Classic Hits “Sunny 98.1” KXSN maintains its lead 7.3 to 7.1 as sister AC 96.5 KYXY rises 4.6 to 6.6, which is down from its 7.8 share in December 2023. Univision Regional Mexican “La Nueva 106.5” KLNV swings 6.0 – 5.4 – 6.0. Public News/Talk 89.5 KPBS-FM dips 6.1 to 5.7. Local Media San Diego Variety Hits “100.7 Big-FM” KFBG holds at a 5.5 share.

LMSD Rhythmic AC “Magic 92.5” XHRM drops 5.5 to 4.5. iHeartMedia Classic Rock 101.5 KGB-FM is up 3.2 to 3.9.

iHeart News/Talk 600 KOGO is down 3.3 to 2.9. Audacy Sports “97.3 The Fan” continues its post MLB season swoon 6.2 – 2.8 – 2.3.

Audacy AC “Today’s 101.9” WLIF rises 6.8 to 7.7, but is down over two shares from its 9.9 in 2023. Hearst’s “98 Rock” WIYY is up 6.6 to 6.9. Radio One Adult R&B “Magic 95.9” WWIN-FM slides 8.7 – 7.7 – 7.5 – 6.7, while sister Hip Hop “92Q” WERQ is down 7.6 to 6.6. Audacy Sports “105.7 The Fan” WJZ-FM continues its climb 3.8 – 4.7 – 5.0.

Brighter Media Group Christian AC “95.1 Bright-FM” WRBS-FM dives 5.5 to 4.6. Public News Talk 88.1 WYPR falls 5.6 to 4.0.

Mangione Enterprises Conservative Talk 680 WCBM is up 3.2 – 3.4 – 3.7. Audacy Hot AC “Mix 106.5” WWMX rises 3.0 to 3.4.

Audacy AC 102.5 KEZK rose 5.5 to 9.6, which is slightly up from its 9.3 in December 2023. iHeartMedia Classic Hits 103.3 KLOU slips 8.8 to 7.9. Hubbard Variety Hits “106.5 The Arch” WARH dips 7.4 to 7.1 with sister Classic Rock 94.7 KSHE down 7.3 to 6.9 and “New Country 92.3” WIL up 6.5 to 6.7.
