Station Sales Week Of 11/13: A New Cloud To Rise Over Boulder

96.9 The Cloud FM 1550 KBUD Denver Boulder Chuck Lontine Marconi MediaAfter selling 94.1 K231BQ Golden CO to iHeartMedia, Marc Paskin’s Marco Broadcasting Corporation winds down operations with the sale of 1550 KBUD Golden/Denver to Chuck Lontine’s Marconi Wireless of Colorado for $25,000. Lontine’s group is planning on launching “96.9 The Cloud” K245AD Arvada/Boulder in early 2016, which KBUD could serve as originating signal.

In addition to beginning to operate 590 KFNS Wood River IL/St. Louis via LMA, Markel Radio Group LLC will acquire the station for $250,000 plus an additional $50,000 in fees from Detalus Consulting, the bankruptcy receiver for Grand Slam Sports. Prior to the sale closing, Markel will end its LMA with 1380 KXFN St. Louis.

Grand Crown Resorts of Pigeon Forge sells Silent 930 WSEV Sevierville TN to Bristol Broadcasting for $25,000 and two 30 second spots per hour for two years for the seller’s time share business.

News/Talk 1270 WYXC Cartersville GA goes from William Rogers’ Clarion Communications to Anthony St. Cyr for $1. The buyer began operating the station via LMA on September 1.

David Greenlee’s Eastern Sky LLC purchases the 49% of 1280 WZXI Lancaster KY he doesn’t own from Lancaster Broadcasters for $41,400.

Translator Sales

Vic Michael is swapping assets between four of his holding companies. Cedar Cove Broadcasting will transfer 1340 KDCO Denver to Kona Coast Radio, while 89.1 K206EO Granite WY will go from Laramie Mountain Broadcasting to Cedar Cove and 90.7 K214DN Surprise AZ from Mountain Community Translators to Cedar Cove.

Michael is continuing to be active in acquiring translators with two other deals. His Mountain Community Translators is purchasing five from Michell Beranek for $25,000. The translators in the deal are 96.5 K243AM Colorado Springs, 101.3 K267BU Laramie WY, 103.9 K280FU Breckenridge CO, 104.1 K281BW Cheyenne WY and 107.1 K296FZ Cheyenne.

Mountain Community Translators also adds five CPs from Mary Medicus for $25,000. Involved in that acquisition are 92.5 K223CH Breckenridge CO, 92.9 K225BV Crown Castle AZ, 95.9 K240EG Laramie WY, 100.3 K262CD Vail CO and 106.9 K295BY Buford WY.

iHeartMedia sells 96.3 W242CC Bethania/Winston-Salem NC to Delmarva Educational Association for $100,000. W242CC will rebroadcast Truth Broadcasting Conservative Talk “980 The Eagle” WEGO Winston-Salem.

Patricia Anderson’s RadioForSale LLC purchases 92.5 K223CI Tucson from George Kimble for $100. K223CI will rebroadcast Full Service Oldies 1080 KGVY Green Valley.

Alpha Media acquires 94.9 W235CH St. Matthews SC from Miller Communications for $155,430. W235CH has a CP to move to downtown Columbia where it will rebroadcast Alpha Sports “ESPN Columbia” 1320 WOIC Columbia.

Piedmont Communications acquires 95.3 W237CA Culpeper VA from Liberty University for $34,000 to rebroadcast their Standards 1490 WCVA Culpeper.

Fred & Evelyn Morton make two deals with Bott Radio’s Community Broadcasting for four translator Construction Permits. The first deal will send three Kansas translatorsfor $32,500. 92.3 K222CB Yates Center, 98.5 K253BF Chanute and 105.1 K286BV Neodesha will all rebroadcast 91.5 KARF Independence.

The second deal sends 103.9 K280FR Clinton MO for $20,000. K280FR is licensed to rebroadcast Bott’s 88.9 KYLF Adrian. The Morton’s own station properties mostly in Oklahoma and this deal looks to be a stockpiling of assets for the upcoming AM translator relocation window.

Russell Kimble’s RSK Communications purchases the CP for 103.3 W277CN Canandaigua NY from FMX Broadcasting for $25,000. W277CN will rebroadcast Standards 850 WYLF Penn Yan.

Family Life Broadcasting acquires 99.1 W256BE Lancaster WI/Dubuque IA from Edgewater Broadcasting for $24,000 to rebroadcast their 88.1 WJTY Lancaster.

Edgewater also sells 100.3 W262AX Marshfield WI to the State of Wisconsin – Educational Communications Board for $24,500 to rebroadcast 930 WLBL Auburndale.

Community Broadcasting also sells the CP for 104.5 K283BY Eldon MO to Zimmer Radio of Mid-Missouri for $16,000. K283BY will rebroadcast Zimmer’s 94.3 KATI California/Jefferson City.

Radio 74 Internacionale sells Silent 104.3 K282BE Hastings NE to Nebraska Rural Radio Association for $17,500.

The University of Wyoming is donated 107.1 K296AG Mount View WY from Central Wyoming College. K296AG will rebroadcast UoW’s 90.5 KUWZ Rock Springs.

Stellar Media purchases 107.9 K300BR Clovis and the CP for 99.9 K260BU Roswell NM from Edgewater Broadcasting for $50,000.

Ondas de Vida Network acquires 104.7 K284CD Quartz Hill CA from Educational Media Foundation for $22,000 to rebroadcast 89.1 KODV Barstow.
