Four staffers from Univision’s Albuquerque cluster resigned together to join competitor American General Media.

DJ Lopez, PD/Midday host at Rhythmic CHR “Kiss 97.3” KKSS will take the same roles at AGM’s Rhythmic CHR “Power 106.7” KAGM as well as program CHR “Z106.3” KDLW and Alternative “Area 102.9” KARS. Also moving from Kiss to Power for the same positions are Imaging Director/Afternoon Host Johnny V and Music Director/Nights MQ. Julian Robles will move from “La Jefa 105.1” KJFA to AGM’s “Radio Lobo 97.7” KLVO for an undisclosed airshift.

The moves come amidst massive restructuring and layoffs at Univison. Most of KKSS’s programming will originate from sister KBBT San Antonio.

American General Media (AGM-Nevada, LLC) announced today the addition of four of the biggest names in radio to Rhythmic CHR/KAGM Power 106.7 and Regional
Mexican/KLVO Radio Lobo 97.7/94.7, all of whom resigned this morning from their positions at Univision Radio. Today, radio legends DJ Lopez, Johnny V, MQ, and Julian Robles join American General Media’s Albuquerque-Santa Fe team.

DJ Lopez, formerly KKSS Program Director/Mid-day host and S.I.N. medium market PD of the year in 2013, will now become KAGM/KDLW/KARS Program Director/KAGM Mid-day host. Johnny V, formerly
KKSS Imaging Director/Afternoon Host, and MQ, formerly KKSS Music Director/Evening Host, will both reprise those same roles at Power 106.7 as well. These three new additions will join Double J and LB of Double J in the Morning at KAGM. And finally, Julian Robles, formerly of KJFA La Jefa 105.1, joins KLVO. This event marks a return to AGM for Lopez and Robles.

The team of Lopez, Johnny V and MQ has successfully led KKSS to be a consistent ratings leader among adults 25-54, 18-49, and 18-34. Together, these new staff additions represent an influx of a total of over 60 years of combined experience in radio into AGM/Albuquerque-Santa Fe, and the move leaves their cross-town rival’s top stations with only one local on-air personality apiece. This mass exodus comes on the heels of ongoing restructuring nationally within Univision Radio.
