Update 8/28: WRQX has completed its evolution and completed its rebranding as “All The Hits 107.3“. The station has debuted a new logo and transferred its online assets to 1073Hits.com
Original Report 8/20: As DCRTV.com first reported on Monday, Cumulus Hot AC “Mix 107.3” WRQX Washington, DC is in the process of evolving to CHR.
The station is dropping its Mix moniker and branding itself “All The Hits 107.3“. With the exception of afternoon hosts Marco and Brooke Ryan, the station’s on-air lineup now matches sisters “Q100” WWWQ Atlanta and “I94” WRWM Indianapolis with The Bert Show in mornings, McKinzie Roth in middays, and Nights Live with Adam Bomb in evenings.

There are still a few “Mix 107.3” sweepers in rotation but all DJ breaks and a few jingles use the new name. Cumulus registered 1073Hits.com for the station today after a pair of staffers at Clear Channel’s Washington cluster registered domains connected to the station. Bill Cahill, PD of AC 97.1 WASH-FM and Classic Rock “Big 100.3” WBIG-FM registered Q1073FM.com in regards to WRQX’s former 1980’s CHR brand while “Hot 99.5” WIHT morning host Kane added to his collection of domains connected to possible brands at competing stations with AllTheHits1073.com and Q1073DC.com, which are wisely redirecting to WIHT’s website.
Wouldn’t be shocked at all if the “Q107” branding was eventually revived.
